However the house visit with a few friends approach may work

He doesn't know where you actually live and he can hardly call the police if you turn up

    Hey guys, quick update...

Ive eventually got through to a real policeman who is going to take the case personally, he seems happy that its my bike since its soo unique and I have pictures of it dating back a few years. He says he will try and deal with it as soon as possible but I think if we can obtain an address it could speed up the process. Ive messaged you Hugehero since your still in contact.

I really appreciate all the help and advice you guys have given! cant thank you enough

That's good, the police love cases like this, they can try and prove they are working on bike crime...

The pictures are good evidence but a frame ID number is better although you have the protection tape on it

If its a big operation they won't want a home visit, they'll want a meeting point (out of the public eye) but if this thief is as stupid as he looks he'll tell you which room in his house to find it!

Tell us how it goes, hopefully the thief will get his punishment

That was what I was hoping to do. I had arranged a meeting spot with the scumbag and was hoping jada would be able to meet with me there or go himself to collect. I am just worried he will sell it to someone else before the police act. I am worried I may scare him off if I ask for his address.

If it was my bike, I would be on the way to chester as we speak and after I see the bike, I would call the police telling them Ihave found it and need urgent assistance blah blah if the guy refuses to give it up.

I put a warning on bike radar forums so people are aware it's stolen

You could ask him if he would be willing to allow a viewing of the bike? But don't ask for an address

Plus I don't want to go and recover it if jada can't meet up with me to collect it when I get it back since I would be catching the train there

Unfortunately it is 10.30 hours for me on the train and nearly 4 in a car, today was not possible to meet due to prior engagements. I wouldn't want for you to go by yourself to recover it I may be able to come tomorrow but more likely Saturday. Although it sounds like I don't want it, it would mean the world for me to get it back, I just want to give the police a chance first since the guy made it sound quite positive about them being able to reclaim it. I really appreciate you stalling him, If you could possibly mention meeting at his house tomorrow and see what happens, maybe we will get an address. Thanks again

It seems he has other people interested. He is asking me whether i can collect today or he will get back to one of the others interested (hopefully one of us).
