Cash Reward for any information that leads to the rescue of this bike
Yeti 575 Pics should say most but this was custom built by me after many years of saving. It was my dream bike and I'm very upset that someone stole it from me.
It was locked up inside my Locked Land Rover which was parked in Storrs Hall car park (Lake Windamere) In Cumbria. Was stolen on the night of the 15th of August since I locked it up inside my car to travel home on the 16th.
Really hope we can find this! Please spread the word around.

When the bike was stolen the wheels/handlebars/forks were off but connected together for transportation so likely the thief took it away in a car. I still have the saddle/seatpost since I kept this elsewhere. Handlebars and brakes are as of top picture (Renthal fatbar and hope mini pro's)0

Sorry to hear, bet you're gutted I know I would be, beautiful bike
It's quite noticeable as they're not the most common bike, I'll post back if I see anything online that matches yours0 -
Don't jump to conclusions but this is suspiciously similar
http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/yeti- ... to-content0 -
I asked the seller about for the spec and where they bought it and got this reply
Its a yeti 575 2010 an bought the bike in bits an upgrade
It few the years looking for quick sale as am looking at
A santa cruz
Now that's suspicious, they totally avoided the question0 -
They've put lights and a cheap speed device on it which you wouldn't put on that sort of bike
Everything matches yours even down to the yellow dust caps, red axels and silver shifters0 -
we have found it. That is definitley the bike. The front QR skewers, handle bar, tyres, wheelset and the chainset are identical.. Too many similarities0
-
I emailed asking again for spec and got this
Its got fox floats rl chris king head set renthal handlebars fox float shock mavic crossride rims an mavic hub an bought a cats eye back light going to get front one tomorrow an cateye speedo an il try root the person who i bought the bike from see if he can send me the papers again
He doesn't have paper, he's just fitted the lights, he has no idea of the spec and claims he built it!!!0 -

Dust caps, grips, stem, scuffs on crank arm, same crank are, triple chainring, rims, hubs, matching front and rear tyres, headset, fork, shock, blue O ring, red Inside the cassette, gold water bottle blots, pedals
It's literally the same, he's put really cheap brakes on it, a new seat post clamp and lights to dress it up a bit
I've PM d the guy telling him to look on this thread0 -
The one for sale has some white mark by the stem and a chip below the seat post clamp, if they match then I'm certain it's his
He also says it needs a new seat, so he put a rubbish cheap one on cause it didn't have one when stolen
Says brakes need bleeding, suggesting he put rubbish cheap old ones on to make it look different
Cheshire isn't too far from where it was stolen either0 -
Fingers crossed it doesn't get sold...0
-
It won't go tonight and anyone with any sense won't buy it
I'll wait till tomorrow and if he doesn't get back to me I'll report it to gumtree0 -
Just noticed, the rear brake cable isn't even attached to the rear triangle properly, that's clearly a bodge job0
-
Thats it! No one would put Juicy's on a Yeti, they have obviously just changed a few things. I bet the forks havent got the o ring on either just like mine and I bet I know where the protective tape is! man that's definitely it. Thank you soo much guys! Ill keep you updated on what happens0
-
Fantastic, I just got his actual number. He lives in chester.0
-
Don't contact the seller you'll scare him away (unless you plan on visiting him with your friends, wouldn't advise it)
Tell gumtree it's stolen and refer it to the local police
I was just looking through used bikes and I saw it, it was the dust caps and awful brakes that gave it away
Keep us posted, hope you get it back, hate to see a hard earned bike stolen0 -
I wish I lived near Chester right now! Hopefully he doesnt sell it before the police/me get there!
Again, thank you soo much for your help guys. ej2320 I will PM you now0 -
I reckon I could easily recover it tomorrow - just means a really long trip to chester for me tomorrow. Hate for jada to lose his bike because of time wasting.
Pmed you by the way jada0 -
Take a mate if you do, you don't know who he is
But I can tell you he has an IPhone from the emails0 -
ej2320 check your PM inbox0

The seller?
Ye, I am currently stalling him. It seems Jada wants to take the longer police route which to me seems a bit risky since his main concern should be recovering his bike as soon as possible. I could arrange a meeting take the bike back then call the police should I need them. :P0 -
Could do, It's a tough call. Everything suggests its his bike but there's no 100% so the police might get funny about it.
You could get an address and agree to meet "When your car is back from the garage" or something cause at least then there's an address if he removes the advert or sells it0 -

Ye, I have pmed him. I don't mind heading to chester it is just a £40 journey for me.0 -
I just read about an identical case, they contacted the police and Gumtree to report it
The bike was then taken to custody as the seller had no documents
If he has the documents and/or the frame number the police will be able to confirm it as his
Either way, he needs to act now0
