    I stand when climbing...nothing wrong with it.

    What's funny is 2 winters ago I spent most of my time on the turbo and the following summer climbed sitting. Last winter I spent most of my time outside (snow permitting) and now climb standing ;)

    To correct someone's earlier statement - the fastest position is the one that generates more power - you employ more muscle groups standing out the saddle than you do seated, ergo you can ride uphill faster. If seated was faster then how come when racing the pack rises as it reaches a steep hill? The most powerful riding position is standing with hands on the drops like Pantani or Cunego, but you need a seriously strong core to sustain it for any length of time, likewise with sprinting - or have they got it wrong too? My peak power standing on climbs is hundreds of watts more than seated. The argument about efficiency is spurious - recent studies show it is simply down to the ability of the rider to sustain a certain threshold.
