Ahem...anyway we should not forget that he is a massive.celebrity in.Belgium and that is also probably affecting his decision...

    *cough*

Boonen has funny ears, they make him look like a sort of aryan Vulcan.
    Correlation is not causation.

Lol. Boonen over Eisel any day. Not to mention that the palmares from almost any of Boonen`s career is better then the palmares of Eisel`s entire career.

He's losing his hair pretty fast. He may be having to go in for Piti hair weave before too long - otherwise - gulp - a Charlton comb-over could be in his future

Bah, such a classy rider and him vs Spartacus is what I look foward to in the spring. Sagan is ok but Boonen is just class. 2012 Paris-Roubiax was immense.

He's over 30. Therefore it can't be that fast....

Well I've got some money to put on him for 2014 RvV and P.R
Motivation is to be the first Belgian (or anyone else) with 4th Flanders but if that fails.
Then motivation to be the first with 5 Roubaix wins. He shares 4 wins with Roger De Vlaeminck who is the 2nd greatest Belgian Classic rider with 11 Monuments.

He's not starting in the Eneco Tour after all. Bummer, hope he gets rid of his third ball soon.

    When did Angel Madrazo marry?

Good on Boonen, but not yet willing to believe it's the end.

My favourite rider - and not coincidentally, my 5-year-old son's favourite too. I'd be saddened to see him retire, though it has to happen some time. I'd like to see him have one more good spring, winning a 4th Ronde.

D'ya not watch extra time koers?

He's continuing to ride in 2017.

    quelle surprise

Good news though. So long as he stays healthy and trains hard then I think he could be on cracking form next year.

Does make for an interesting dynamic in the transfer market. Who really wants to join EQS for the classics when Boonen, and therefore de Fitte, are still top dogs?

This means I don't need to find a new man crush for at least another year. Phew...

I don't because it's incredibly dull and Vannieuekerke does my head in.

Merci Merckx I loved. Those were really good.

I think I just didn't really like his book and an irrational loathing has grown from there.
