Knee Pain - ITBS?

I'm experiencing pain on the outside of my right knee only when cycling, sometimes with a clicking feeling around the back of it.
I feel absolutely nothing when I'm off the bike e.g. Walking up stairs.
If I stand with my toes pointing out at 45 degrees on each side and squat down, I feel a click on the affected knee.
This started 2-3 weeks ago after either altering cleat position or stepping up the training.
Does this sound like ITBS to anyone? Just seems weird to only experience pain on the bike.
Will see the doctor next week but it would be great to hear any views in the meantime as its destroying my cycling fun

I had a similar problem (still have it actually) but the clicking was when climbing the stairs and running. I did ocassionly get the pain when on the bike, but I got a proper fit done and my saddle went up 4cm.
I am incredibly careful with my stretching after a ride, and don't stomp on the pedals until I am 20mins into a ride.
Pester the Dr for a scan if the pain persistsMadone 4.9 2014

The angle of your cleats could be wrong, saddle height incorrect etc etc. Bike fit is the best way to go to take out the uncertain factors of the above first then take it from that point. Probably not down to one single variable however if it started after altering cleat position I would suggest putting it back. With regards to ITBS, I would say most people have different degrees of this condition.
