a vo2 max question

I've got an illness that's left me with a very low red blood cell count. I've got a blood transfusion soon that will fix this temporarily.

Is Vo2 max impacted by red blood cell count? So will new blood make my Vo2 max go up?

Im considering doing a fitness test at BW cycles Bristol before & after the procedure to see what impact it has on things like vo2 max, max heart rate etc...

thoughts?

These studies are well known and you can download the results without the need to spend a grand for those tests.

Would you decline the transfusion, if it doesn't?

Anyway, as ugo says, no need to spend - just jump on the turbo and do an aerobic limit test before/after, something you can do on your own.

Yes it is likely to go up, however like others have said I would avoid testing while ill or without your doctors advice.
