I am glad you agree that Froome has no style though.

can you point me to the bit where i actually said that, or even implied it?

as it happens i do agree with that aspect, he doesn't have a good style. i'm not that concerned with style though. luckily froome has more than enough talent to make up for it

    1. Both are shoddy in comparison to Sir Wiggo.
    2. Contador has a better tan.
    3. Contador's helmet is not suited for a rider who puts his head down when suffering.
    4. Froome's helmet is.
    5. Froome is clearly going faster despite evidence that someone has taken a hammer to his chain rings.

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

yes, we are aware of that. integrity and honesty play no part in your preferences. for you it must 'look good', nothing else matters.

    it's a shame.

You are wrong in what you say, as you well know.

I was actually looking for a good photo of Wiggins on a TT machine and was going to c&c another Froome shot

Best Wiggins comparison one I can find

I actually think Froome's position on a TT bike is pretty good considering how bad he looks on a road bike! Dowsett has a good position but I don't think anything matches Wiggins but then he has spent years working to get it just right.

If we are in a "Style" loop here, what about a certain Mr Merckx???? Probably the greatest cyclist to turn a pedal, jumped attacks 100k from the finish, even when he had an un touchable lead. Rode EVERY race to win. Style? a beast on the bike but all power , aggression and rolling shoulders. Do we decry him for a lack of style?

Not his 47min '25' ride from 1992 but it's that season anyway. In my eyes, no-one has ever looked more natural on a TT bike than Boardman

This was brilliant in my eyes

  • Wiggins at full tilt on the TT bike is poetry in motion for me, looks about as good as it's possible to look in a TT. Track honed.

Froome looks helluva lot better on the TT bike than his regular psoition. Bertie looks wonderfully compact but uncomfortable. Froome looks a bit more relaxed, less tension but then Bert is near the end of a TT and busting a gut.

Peter Keene pointed out that Boardman was able to achieve such an aero position because he had a long body compared to his leg length. His breathing was restricted less than most in the extreme aero tuck.

Is there a prize for this, and has anyone got the right answer yet?

I think both Wiggins and Tony Martin have a graceful fluidity to their time trialling. In comparison everyone else just seems to be working so hard at sitting on the bike.

Are you one of the Dutchies with the sit up and beg aero bars? (I saw those on an e-bike once, it was brilliant! Fair play he could get it going pretty quick! It was great motopacing for me!)

Those lo-pro rigs do look weird. Far too short for him. Something to do with a shorter wheelbase?

Smaller frontal area of the 650c? Got banned after a while, possibly for aesthetic reasons!

Alas no aero bars :( I just do the arms draped over the bars with hands dangling down nonchalantly thing. Well either that or the no handed drinking a coffee, eating a sandwich and talking on the phone thing. I do have smaller 26 inch wheels on my uma fiets, I just need to get a 29 inch on the back and then I'm good to go full Boardman.

Anyone got any shots of Jacques Anquetil? He looks really aero, even on a standard road bike.

Yes, I think the one with the stubby bars (in Transport Museum) is Old Faithful.
