Hey everyone,

I have a 3 X 10 drivetrain with a shimano XT rear mech and SLX front derailleur.

I am being driven insane by chain slap when things get rough.

I was wondering if it is possible to fit a chain guide / tensioner to it, despite it having 3 chain rings?

If yes, can anyone recommend any models or types to look out for?

Thanks in advance

the rear mech is the tensioner. maybe one of these clutch rear mechs if yours is not already.

or just wrap some old inner tube around the chain stay and ride the bike.

My rear mech has a clutch system (which I have remembered to put in the on position) and I have got an inner tube cable tied to the chain stay

Put the chain on the largest ring at the front you can, this lifts the chain off the stay and also tensions it more and for the same gear ratio you'll be using a larger rear sprocket as well.....

Sounds like your clutch is fubarred though......
