BR (but certainly not PR) ASHES SPOILER THREAD

I guess you're interpreting the Trott thing differently to me, but IMO Erasmus had no grounds to overturn the decision based on the technology he had; the lack of the side on hotspot weakens his judgement even more.
How he couldn't see that he'd hit it with the normal camera footage raises a question of his ability to see at all (as does the Agar dismissal), but then he overturned the decision based on no evidence. There was no way that he could be sure (which he needs to be to overturn) so the decision should stay with onfield umpire.
Aleem Dar's reaction said it all, though subsequently it seems he can't see properly either so that looses some credence.
Either way, it's been a cracking test so far for one reason or another, and I'm sure there'll be more dodgy decisions both ways for the game is up.
Snicko processing needs to be sped up so that it can be analysed real time as part of the DRS suite of tools.0 -
It must be in the 'Broad genes'. Remember his old man refusing to leave the field after the umpire raised his finger?0

The bookies odds on being next to pick up the Ashes;
England 6/4
Australia 3/1
Winnie Mandela 1/30 -

Yeah, and it was him that pulled Ramdin up over the dropped catch. #irony0 -
What an excellent game.
Good so see Erasmus' ears are ok.
What's that Skippy, you think Haddin nicked it?

What a match. So reminiscent of Edgbaston 05. Only nine more tests to go.0

Flipping awesome... Waiting for the highlights on ITV40

I was on a road trip home so had to go with TMS on long wave today and just as they appealed and reviewed the final wicket I went into a tunnel on the M25 and lost the radio signal...aargh, shitty timing. I developed a slightly heavier right foot for a bit so I could emerge the other side and hear the conclusion!
Really looking forward to the Lords test, all the better as I'm off work for a week and can watch the first day along with the double Alpe-d'huez stage. There will be lots of flicking between channels that day.0 -
Hmmn, the filter thinks fl1ck1ng is a rude word. Filter, you are utter fuck1ng useless...0

TMS on radio, cycling pics on TV (quick change for a wicket). The ECB are also streaming it live on YouTube in HD. It's about a ball behind TMS thoughWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Trying to help the Aussies make a game of it again here.0

Would it be presumptuous to call 2:0 yet?
Good news is, I'll be going out for a ride on Monday instead of sitting watching the cricket.0 -
Nice of England to think of the people with tickets for Sunday and bat again. Monday tickets are likely to be worthless though.0

If England carry on as they are it'll be all over tomorrow, one way or another.
The upshot of this is I can watch the TdF live on Sunday, instead of sky+ing it.0 -

You can watch it live anyway, those nice people at ASO were worried about losing viewers to The Ashes so moved the final stage to an evening slot.0 -
Doh, yup forgot that. Thank you French folk, terribly thoughtful.0
