I was in there on tuesday and they have a 52.5 ctt on display. I am about the same height as you and the fit was fine for me. The bike was set up with a 100mm stem, if that is any use to you.

Just under 5"10 and went with a 50cm so 52.5 should be about right for you. Coming today hopefully!
  • Just finished building up this 525 frame for a winter training bike/commuter. Think it almost looks too nice though.

Campag Centaur/Veloce groupset, 4ZA wheels I'd taken off my other bike, Carradice bag on the back. Pretty pleased with how it's turned out.

  • bit bling for my taste. Why did you sell it? Mine has black archetypes and finishing kit so full on black. Black and gold can work, look at wiggins pirandello for example.

Just completely stripped and rebuilt my Gran Fondo - I think it deserves a new pic on here. 16777 miles and looking not bad at all I think! Bars now levelled.

Nice to see David's pictures, I wondered what my Ribble Sportive might look like with exactly that Campag groupset. Although I do remain addicted to the classic 9-speed Dura ace kit I have on it supplemented by Ultegra grey in places. The bike has changed a bit over a couple of years and I don't have a current picture but I have and still do enjoy this bike as much as anything else I have ridden.

It was quite a blow when ugo" pointed out my rear wheel rim was thin so my Easton wheels are on it now, saddle is now Spec Romin Pro and the interim mudguards you see gave way to the usual Crudcatchers as one of the other bikes on the thread show.

Here's my GF - built up from a 52cm frame in April/May last year and I've loved every minute of riding her since!

Started out with the Kinetic hoops and more rounded saddle but now use the C50's and Prologo saddle for faster riding in the summer months and switch over to the original kit for winter. And yes they're Microshift White fr & rr derailleurs and levers which have been excellent, ultegra crankset, cassette and chain, Merek carbon wing bars in Lizardskins tape, FSA stem, XLC brakes and Look Keo carbon pedals. Just love this bike, and done some century rides in summer guise on her too as its so comfy!

Errrr, Blimey! That's the most vibrant Gran Fondo I think I've ever seen! Amazing how unlike mine it looks.

But if mine still looks as good as yours after 16,000 odd miles I'll be more than happy!!!

I knew how I wanted it to look before I ever bought the frameset, and with the colour scheme being what it is from the factory I think there are options on how you detail it and how different they can look from one to another. I wanted the white to be the standout colour, hence the calipers, spokes, bars, bar tape and derailleurs being white, then matched the red paint highlights with anodised red bolts, cable adjusters, derailleur clamp, jockey wheels, etc. Maybe a little 'blingy' for some but I think it all works well and it gets plenty of compliments. Not much point in them looking nice though if they ride rubbish - happily mine rides every bit as good as I hoped it would once I'd put it all together! (Must say the C50's made a hell of a difference, way more than I expected!)
Congrats on your impressive mileage btw, was just wondering how you have found the frame to be having done so many miles on it - any issues or niggles at all?
  • First build project. Retro early-mid 90's Ribble Reynolds 531c steel frame. The frame had been resprayed and the modern Ribble decals added before I bought it but I think it gives it a unique look. I have added:
3ttt Status Stem and Ergo Power Bars
    Rigida/Ryde DP rims
    Sturmey Archer s/s drive-train

It's a slow project but thought I'd share with the other Ribbles. Will add some more pics when she's finished.

Love it. Gorgeous colour. Be sure to show us the finished article. Makes me want to get my old steel frame re-sprayed.
