^^ That's a nice bike. You're the first person I've seen with the new HF. Be interested to see a bigger review on it.

  • All i can say is that its fast, light and very responsive. i had a R872 and enjoyed riding it till it was damaged by LBS, so they got me the HF83 frame and built it back up using the gear from the r872. i didnt know much about the frame as it was so new but i have had a renewed zeal to get out there and its handling is great and its really does instill confidence on cornering and descents.I would like to see a bikeradar review as i have not had that many bikes to compare it with

My Ribble Ultralite Racing. Not as exotic as most on here and not as light as the name suggests either but it rides well enough for me. Before anybody says anything the Stem is now reversed (was set like that whilst I improved my flexibility!) and the handle bars are level. The bars are due to the dodgy lens on an Iphone...

Here's mine. Only changes are I now have a 3T dorico stealth seatpost, a Deda superleggero stem, zipp service course sl black on black bars and some titanium speedplay zeros. Looks that little bit more stealth now. null-8.jpg

    Nice ,Like that.

Do you have a link to the post you bought and also what wheels are they ?

    Thanks

I think I remember seeing you post this a while back Big P. Does the one who must be obeyed race, and you built this for her, or is my memory off?

This bike is her winter trainer, she spends most of the summer on her tri bike, she does a lot of triathlons, she just raced at the European championships in turkey and came 5th in her age group.

Just acquired my first road bike, and as you can see from the lack of pedals, not ridden it yet! Have also adjusted the seat angle a bit this afternoon.

  • Here's mine, yet another R872.

    Ribble.jpg

I bought this for my return to racing, I've spent the last couple of years riding an S-Works Roubaix and couldn't face the thought of potentially trashing an £1800 frame so have technically downgraded, all of the components were transferred across except for the seatpost.

Built up Wednesday and after an hour shake down ride it had its first race at Castle Combe on Thursday. I'm pretty impressed by the way it rides for a budget frame.

    Spec is:

    Size XL (545)
    Praxis BB30 - 24mm adapter
    Full Dura Ace 7900 with a 34x50
Mavic Ksyrium SLS with 25mm GP4000
    3T Doric Team
    Fizik Antares Saddle
    3T ARX Team Stem
    3T Rotundo Pro Bars
    Specialized Roubaix Tape
    Specialized Cages

    Weighs 7.44Kg

Next purchase, some nice deep wheels.

My ribble is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My ribble, without me, is useless. Without my ribble, I am useless. I must ride my ribble true. I must ride straighter than my opponents who are trying to beatl me. I must outsprint him before he outsrpints me. I will...
My ribble and I know that what counts in this race is not the turns on the front, the noise of a crash, nor the attacks we make. We know that it is the points that count. We will score...
My ribble is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its wheelss and its gears. I will keep my ribble clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before the flying spaghetti monster, I swear this creed. My ribble and I are the defenders of my club. We are the masters of our opponents. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is ours and there is no competition, but peace!

Bit of an update, change to a 39 x 53 and new training wheels, these frames were made for black archetypes (built by me 32/32 on Hope Pro3). I'll probably build some 28/24 for racing on some nice hubs.

Until you start using them and the brake track starts wearing back to silver. Doesn't take long if you live in a hilly area!
  • It doesn't bother me too much. I have an old set of Mavic Pro Open Ceramics which do the same thing and have a used look. As I live in Cambridgeshire brakes are pretty much redundant anyway! I will put the Archetypes on for the summer then change them to the wheels it's coming with, bog standard Shimano R500's. Being built this week hopefully but knowing Ribble's rep on timing I am not getting too excited just yet.
