It's after midnight, the waiting is finally over, it's race day.

Flat as a sultana pancake. Almost dead straight final few Kms with just two r/abouts to worry about

Cav in British Champs stripes at the start of the day and probably malliot juane at the end?

Merry Christmas.

Superb. I'm celebrating my 2000th post on the spoiler thread of the 1st stage of the 100th edition of the TdF.

Here's hoping for success for Cav. He looked good in the British champs last week but we know this is a different ball game.

Right I'm off for an early ridey pidey before dad tasks and a bit of ITV4

Also off for early ride. Bit of rugby watching on return, then serious sofa stuff this pm.

Cav for yellow today. Can't see beyond Froome, but let's hope Contador et al. make a race of it. Let's hope for a clean tour.

Gutted to miss the first stage as I teach little kiddies to swim all day Saturdays. My money is on Cav but not bothered who wins to be honest, just glad it's Le Tour! Enjoy it guys!

And there was me thinking I would win the who went out for the earliest ride award but YP just took it to a whole other level.

    I am finally excited! :D

P.s. had a weird dream that Cav was riding for BMC, oh well they'd win something then.

There is already a thread for the TdF, can we please keep all TdF discussion there? We really don't need a separate thread for every stage...

    Hell yeah we do!

The Pre Race chat thread should be allowed to die.

    +1

The stage spoiler thread is where I always look to find out what actually went on if I don't get to see the stage live.

Yeah, this isn't the Eneco Tour, I think we can stretch to a thread for each stage.

Cavendish for the win today, one of the big GC riders to crash. I appreciate these are not earth shattering predictions.

FF to change his avi an average of twice per stage. Following his heroic multi-col attacking exploits in recovering from a series of bizarre garderen accidents, the final portrait of panache to be FroomeyDog in sunflower gold.

Phew. Made it back. Should they have potentially sacrificed 'G' there, though?

The cat has a yellow jersey on and we have a baguette and a selection of cheeses spread out on a rug on the living room floor.

OK none of that is true, we don't even have a cat, but LET'S DO THIS!

    Racing is on! :D

Froome, Boassen Hagen and Kennaugh have caught back up with the peloton, which is still rolling along in the neutral zone #tdflive

I think I might put the heating on to try and recreate Corsica. I've got a wooly jumper on, I've never watched the TdF with a wooly jumper on before.

The Pre Race chat thread should be allowed to die.

It's been renamed, and I don't think we do. But whatever the majority want I suppose :P
