Well he got up there quicker, so might be right I need to have another good crack at this really. Although i do ride Swains quite often I rarely give it full gas.0 -

In that the rest of us are able to fall off the back of a 4th cat race. That said, two of those are doing the Marmotte this weekend, so I guess that makes me the only pretender :roll:0 -
He is a pretty decent climber, only 4 secs behind me in a 10 minute uphill TT that we both did in a stage race earlier this year, and I was on a TT bike, I don't think he was.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0

Is it Zap?!0 -
No. Though Zap was still pretty handy in that same TT, though to be expected as he is quite a light guy!Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0

If anyone cant make it and has a place going my brother missed entry and would be grateful for a chance especially as he has been training on swains lane for this.

Managed a couple of quick practice runs this evening, pleasantly surprised - form seems to be more or less where it was last year, hoping I can dig in and nail a PB.0

Its worth having a look beforehand if you can - just to get an idea of what sort of gearing you'll need, when the suffering ends etc.0 -

Gear choice? Big/grind or little/spin?0 -
39x23 was deployed today, was nearly crying for mummy to put my 11-25 on! Hopefully have a bit more energy to get out the saddle on Thursday but either way, will not be deploying the 53 ring!0

I wondered that. One of my clubmates is seeded and he was 15 seconds behind me in this event last year. Then tehre are people like OKGO who aren't seeded. Looking at the main startlist there are some very strong riders in there. I'm off just before 7 which suits me as I wouldn't want to hang around until 8.30 before I could even have a pint!0 -
They probably looked at a picture of me and thought, "yeh, he may be quick on the flat, but not up a 20% ramp" lol!Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0

Though rather annoyingly it does mean that if by some freak chance I do do one of the quickest times in the non seeded bit I will have to wait around for some time.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0

Recovery time - think I waited a good 10 minutes between efforts the other night and my legs still hadn't fully recovered (although recovery is one of my problems at the moment).0 -
How are we all pacing this then? And gearing?Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0
