I want to enter as I've started getting KOMs on small uphills, but the other day I got well and truly scalped going up zig zag road, so probably shouldn't...0

Am I going to have to reconsider my 39/23 smallest gear? Sounds similar maybe to Crocknorth with some nastier bits thrown in: http://app.strava.com/segments/958884
Think a scoping mission is required..0 -

Ooh, gutted I missed out on that one. I work really nearby and this would have given me the added motivation to actually tackle it on my way to work (I usually wuss out and go via Dartmouth Park Hill - similar incline but a lot more respite along the way).
Maybe next year. Should be up for spectating at least.0 -
Annoyingly i'll be hurting myself in the Alps this year so can't make it.
It's a big ring, out the saddle climb Pete. Just after the cemetery entrance it kicks hard, i'd advise some practice beforehand so you know not to blow up to early.
This is the best segment:

Crocknorth is a fair bit harder, being a touch longer and steeper on average. If you can make it up whitedown, you'll romp up Swains0 -
D'oh! Too slow, and missed my chance to enter. This is probably a dumb question (it's certainly optimistic), but is there any other way of getting a ride other than through RiderHQ?0
-
Nope, you can try and get on the reserve list though. Even if you're not racing it's worth going to cheer on, it's great fun!0
-
Thanks Willy - hopefully I'll get to go, as either a rider or spectator. Not sure how to get on the reserve list, but have e-mailed Rollapaluza to enquire.0

It might be worth turning up to spectate in your kit and seeing if people don't turn up....http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Hmm, chap in the office did a recce yesterday.
From a standing start he clocked 8th overall on the segment. Took him 10 seconds to spin up to 18mph. The KOM is 9 seconds quicker and hit the foot of the hill at 20mph rather than from 0.
Reckon he's in with a shot...0 -

I've had a few tweets saying tehre are places available if anyone is interested. I'm a potential drop out - struggling to be free and form is lousy anyway - think I need another holiday!0
