Excellent stuff if they do come over here - well looking forward to it.

Re the carbon update - yup: a winner with me. Stupidly light, stiff and fast but looks ever so cool and (I hate to say it being Italian) French. Only cool and connoisseurs would appreciate it.

I'd have one if it had Red and deep rim wheels.

Great to see Peugeot making top class road bikes again. Remember my dad having a Peugeot Fibre de Carbon in the early 80's cost a fortune only for it to be stolen and him getting one of the first full aluminium road Peugeot's to replace it as they stopped making the carbon one. Were such a big name they deserve to be back up there.

Ah Peugeot........that takes me back to the late 1980's.....I had a Reynolds 531 Pro tubing ANC Halfords bike. Orange Benotto handlebar tape. pearlescent white paint, chrome chainstay and forks and Suntour Superbe Pro 8 speed grp plus Mavic GP4 tub wheels. From memory it was quite light (maybe 17lbs'ish?) for the period. I also had an Avocet trip computer....remember them?!
I like your build and hope to see Peugeot back in Blighty asap!

I am super glad to see this Peugeot :) Keep us updated on progress in the UK inseine, I'd seriously consider one for my next 'racey' bike...

*edit* I mean in a non commercial advertising kind of way of course ;) Just a hint and a well placed photo here and there ;)

I guess this is what happens when you're on a German internet site late at night with credit card in your hand.
There's probably worse things you can come out with

Bike looks great, I crashed my mates Peugeot back in the day as the brakes were the "wrong" way round. It was an old MTB with Brahma bars (For those old enough to remember them) straight over the bars into a seaside cabin thing...

Old thread, I know, but I tried out a pair of deeeeeep section wheels today.
They look kinda silly on a road bike and they very noisy and a bit twitchy in the wind. They make up for that by being very fast. It's rare I ride something that genuinely feels faster but these fit the bill.

Love this bike. It looks like one of the road bikes that had been TT'd for the prologue of the tour of Dubai with those wheels

Inseine you need to get that copper plating you did on the TT bike on one of the frames. It looks sooooooo cool.

The Peugeot garages around here have old Peugeot bikes in their window's, next to the cars. Now if they had your bike in the window they may get me to look at their cars, on the way back from looking at the bike. Very nice.

    Hi. been on holiday!
I'll get back to you shortly. Headset bearings are always a bugger with all the different specs. I was 2 months waiting for one for a Giant Advanced, which you'd think was pretty common.

I have that same frame as well, though it didn't come with the headset either (another freebie from work....) but I put these Woodman bearings in that I had in stock and they seem fine.

1"1/8 of course, C45°/45° same top and bottom.

If you need more help let me know and I can always ask the engineers, though they're all on holiday at the moment.
  • Hi , thanks very much, i´ve tried a 36º / 36º it suits fine i think , does the 45/45 has the same height top and bottom ? i´ve tried on 45 angle on top and it was to much height! i´ll experiment anyway, but if you can ask the engineers i´d be much appreciated .

You probably don't want to hear this....they are ENVE 8.9 and they going to set you back over £2500. Nice though ;)
I took the stickers off (I made up some small black ones that may be visible).

What ever happened to this brand revivial

Peugeot used to made some nice steel bikes, the limited new ones look pretty average at best.
  • Fibre de Carbone was the first bike I ever coveted when I was a schoolboy racer :D

    Nice to see them back!
