Going to build this up as soon as the package from Ribble arrives (don't hold your breath).
Was hoping to get it ready for L'etape but that looks doubtful now.
Exactly 900 for the frame with seat clamp and 378 for the forks with about a meter of steerer!

Interesting and very nice. Looking forward to finished pics. Hoping also that the kit will do it justice!

No red tyres or red cables please!

Bugger. I ordered some red Nokons and then thought it was going to be too much, which you've just confirmed! Tyres are black (mainly).

Hmm, I went browsing for more information, since you have been so negligent and not provided any! So, details please? Are these made in France / Taiwan / Congo Republic? Specific design or OEM re-branded? It does look nice...

    Found this website...

    http://www.peugeot.com/en/products-services/cycles#bloc-153

which would have to be - easily - the most cr@p website I've come across in years. Links to about 4 or 5 models off the page, which are hidden. Zero details on most things.

Keen to know how you get on with the Nokons... I've been going to try them, or the Yokozunas for ages but never got round to it. You might get away with red ones on this but the rest of the finishing kit will need to be a bit subdued. Zipp Service Course SL post, stem and bars would do nicely. 8)

    EDIT: Found another website http://www.peugeot-scooter.com/product_info.php?language=en&info=p119_peugeot-rennrad--rsr-01-dura-ace-22.html&

that has this wonderful description, which makes perfect sense:

Agreed, the web site is rubbish. Try this http://cycles.peugeot.fr/ or this http://www.peugeotdesignlab.com/en for where I work. It's not my responsibility but I'll pass on your comments! In fairness we haven't got back into the UK market yet so it's all very foreign at the moment. Despite Peugeots history this is the start of a new era and will take a while to get up to speed.
I didn't work on the RSR ( the graphics, a bit). It was created for us with input, including all the testing, from the Cycleurope engineers. It is made inTaiwan. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and apparently it rides well. We've just sponsored a pro triathlon squad (including the short course world champion) and they seem to love to love them. See here, also in french http://www.poissytriathlon.com/2013/05/ ... s-la-main/
I'll keep you undated as I build it.

Looks very similar to the ribble R872 and planet x rt 57.
    Looks nice definitely.

It's not really like those (any more than many other bikes) apart from the matt black, which is no bad thing! I'm hoping it looks good built up.

I'm actually really happy to see that - I've always had a soft spot for Peugeot bikes (first few bikes were Peugeot) and since they went off the scene I always thought it was a bit sad.

I saw some project piccies for their stuff years ago but never saw any for sale.

Keep us updated - has potential to be well cool.

Freakin' cool - where can we buy them?

Well, I got the last bits last night, bars, stem, seat post and saddle etc so I managed a spin today. Obviously still need to tape the bars, cut the brake cables etc. Pretty happy with the Di2, but I still need to tinker with the position despite in being very similar to my other bikes, on paper at least.

    You can probably make out most of the kit, but I've put on;
Cinelli Dinamo bars and stem (233 and 121 grams respectively. Look good with the frame).
Red Nokon's. A doddle to fit despite what i've read.
K-edge Garmin mount. Nice bit of kit, but dear for what it is.
Old Planet X seat post (with tape over the graphics!) cos I'm not sure I like the KCNC post I bought.
Selle Italia full carbon saddle. Left over from a project at work (along with the wheels ;) and surprisingly comfortable for 80g of plastic.

Just phone pics for the mo'

Thanks Ed. Yeah the tapes is on and is black! I tried some glossy stuff but i didn't like it so I've just put some basic matt black stuff on. Plus some red jockey wheels  Photos tomorrow.

Surely this is screaming for some Lizard Skin DSP?!

Here is a pic of it on mine -> http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8101/8615445037_682b8a82f4_c.jpg

Sweet - very nice. Agree with ED J re jockey wheels - stick with black: red will look tacky.

Swap the Nokon for black when you have a mo' as well, but overall very cool.

Ohhh, that's lovely and I don't even like matt black frames. Peugeot still know how to do it in shovel fulls!

But...... the jockey wheels are bad. Really bad. The red cable outers are a little bit of a step too far as well. The only red that bike needs is the red already on the frame. If you like, I'll come over and cut your credit card up for you after you've got the new cable outers and put the old jockey wheels back on - I'm thoughtful like that!

I don't know if i should 'fess up to this, but I designed the frame graphics (glad people seem to like it) and hopefully you'll see more of my designs (3D, not just graphics) in the near future. Funny to see the comments on 'redgate', but it's always interesting to hear your points of view. We're quite concervative, us cyclists.
I've got a city bike coming out very soon, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to post it here! I guess if I put my lycra on a nd give it a blast I can call it a road bike? :)
Tell me what you like and you might see it on the next Peugeots...and thanks for the comments.

Well congratulations, you must be chuffed to bits.

Keep doing what you're doing, you nailed the design on that frame. I haven't seen Peugeot for a decade or so but now they've reappeared, they bring out a modern frame, in line with the competition, yet still paying homage to those old timeless frames. Kudos sir, I'm a big fan.

It's nice. I don't like matt black as it is so impractical but fashion is fashion and I'm not fashionable!

But otherwise, the restrained design is neat - the red and black ought to look a bit 1980s but it doesn't. There is little enough of the red to keep it subtle. The typeface of the Peugeot lettering is really nicely retro in a way that looks far less dated than the typefaces on most bikes. And the fact that there isn't much lettering is also nice. It doesn't say 'look at me' for once! Just shows that carbon frames can look nice in their own right rather than being entirely dependant on flashy graphics.

But it really needs low profile alloy rims and gumwall open tubulars to set it off properly!

Would love to see this as a proper homage with white paint, orange "Peugeot" graphics, lion headbadge and black checkerboard. You could call it the "Super Competition" version. A contemporary carbon update of this:

I'd buy one. If you didn't give me one for free for suggesting it

Nice idea. we already do a 'homage' to the classic 70's PX10 in white with black graphics but the one you posted would be cool too.

That would be perfect with Campag. Those ghastly clunky looking shifters spoil what is otherwise a rather nice piece of kit!

Hopefully, yes. We have been rebuilding the brand and the UK (I'd take issue with the 'less civilised' ) is one of the last pieces of that puzzle. All your nice comments help a great deal.
