Where is this dirt of which you speak? You must get cleaner rain than we do in Blighty!
You can see the really dirty chain and RD hanger. The bottom bracket and chainstays are full of oil stains from the chain too. Fortunately for me, it doesn't show up in the pics. Haha

  • I think he means the Q-rings, looks the dogs btw. Q-rings are definitely on my future build plans, how do they work for you?
  • Pina looks great still Ian.

Are you getting one of the Rapha TdF victory jerseys to go with it? or perhaps the personalised one?

Hope you still enjoy that Dog' as much I do mine.

HouseMunkey, the Q rings are awesome. I absolutely love them.

Super Domestique, I haven't bought the TDF Rapha jersey yet but I did get the Froomey t-shirt.

Here's something you would like. A Casio G-Shock in the exact shade of Team Sky blue. I saw some pics of the Sky mechanics wearing it and I just had to have one. Went to 6 different G-Shock shops before finding it.

  • Love that watch Ian. Although I daren't mention that one to the wife as she bought me a watch last anniversary!

I've ordered one of the personalised jerseys with my username down the side :)

Also I spotted Luke Rowe had a Sky coloured rider identity wristband while on the Vuelta. I traced it down to onelifeid.com as it was something I'd been looking for so now added that to my kit. Decent quality too. Plus has QR code on it too which is a great idea.

Good to see you enjoying the toys Ian. All the best.

Tolos restaurant, on the sea front opposite the beach. There's a few bits of Wiggo memrobilia in there. Good coffee too.

    Great pic Ian.

I ditched the metal bottle cages on mine yesterday for the more 'pro style' Elite ones with Sky trim - not a huge change but a little weight saved :) - that said, your Dog is a fair chunk lighter than mine!

I'm using a 7gm carbon bottle cage with practically weightless Carbon-Ti branded aluminium bolts. I ordered an Elite Team Sky bottle last Monday. Going to the LBS to collect it tomorrow. Wish I could get my hands on some of those "Not For Sale" Team Sky Gatorade bottles though.

Which colour do you want? I got a couple black ones that I got free from cycle show birmingham recently, you can have them but you'll have to wait till I travel back to Malaysia next :P

You managed to get it yet? Gatorade gives them out quite often hence I have one, normally they give it out in races or sportives that they sponsor.

Here's a deal for anyone who reads this before this Wednesday 23/10 at 12pm.
If you REALLY want some green bottles, PM me. So long as you pay what the courier will charge, you can have them free.

  • Hi Ian

Thought I'd better post a pic to prove it isn't all talk (or should that be type lol). Hope you like the logo!

BTW, the green cover of your nexus - does it match the Rainforest kit Sky wore a while back in the Tour of Britain by any chance?

adamfo, I don't really like that Froome edition yellow coz of the black forks. The Wiggins edition with full yellow frame is much nicer IMO.

JSCL, thx for the Gatorade bottles. Pure awesome!

Super Domestique, the green cover on my Nexus is like aqua green. Not the Sky forest green unfortunately.

ok, so how are the jockey wheels so big?

has it been upgraded and if so what's the advantage.

    looks good by the way.

    Larger ring sizes and higher tensions decrease driveline friction. Read here;

    http://www.ihpva.org/HParchive/PDF/hp50-2000.pdf

We are talking about marginal gains here but remember that jockey wheels are the fastest spinning part of the bike. I have nothing to do with the above link just something I remember looking into once. The paper doesn't directly compare jockey wheel size but larger bend radius of chain and lower rotational velocity of the bearings will reduce friction.
