My Garmin Edge 500 won't manually calibrate with my power meter - is this actually an issue (i.e. will auto calibration suffice)? I reckon it is an issue...

yep - you really need to manually calibrate before every ride, ideally after the hub has had a chance to adjust to the outside temperature. Why doesnt it manually calibrate (or zero offset to be more precise)?

You probably have switched on an ant+ HR and don't actually use it. Switch it off and try to calibrate again :-)

Strange, my 500 will only calibrate if it is getting a HR signal!

What about if you actually de-select 'HR present' box on your Edge?

That's kind of the point of the thread.

It will calibrate without HR signal if you turn HR off in the settings.
