4 riders didn't finish within the time limit - Vanmarcke (BLA), Sanz (MOV), Feillu (VCD) and Gutierrez (MOV).

On this showing BMC's leadership is probably sorted for the tdf.

Stage results with intermediate times at 16.5 km and 21.9 km and times at finish (26.8 km):

    1 Costa (MOV) +0:11; +0:04; 51:56
    2 Kangert (AST) +0:11; 33:42; +0:21
    3 Mollema (BLA) 0:34; +0:28; +0:29
    4 Peraud (ALM) +0:30; +0:28; +0:42
    5 Amador (MOV) +0:01; +0:20; +0:43
    6 Kreuziger (TST) +0:39; +0:38; +0:55
    7 Pinot (FDJ) +0:28; +0:41; +1:00
    8 Spilak (KAT) +0:20; +0:34; +1:05
    9 Brajkovic (AST) +0:20; +0:26; +1:06
    10 van Garderen (BMC) 18:43; +0:15; +1:19
    11 Izagirre (EUS) +0:46; +0:49; +1:27
    12 Martin (GRS) +0:51; +0:53; +1:32
    13 Velits (OPQ) +0:12; +0:48; +1:36
    14 Scarponi (LAM) +1:31; +1:24; +1:36
    15 Meyer (OGE) +0:08; +0:40; +1:48
    16 Anton (EUS) +1:17 ; +1:23; +1:52
    17 Jeannesson (FDJ) +2:04; +1:49; +1:54
    18 Dyachenko (AST) +0:17; +0:54; +1:55
    19 Frank (BMC) +0:23; +0:54; +1:56
    20 Sagan (CAN) +0:53; +1:28; +2:01

As well as by Costa, good ride thoroughout by the others in the top 4. If only Mollema had been a bit quicker on the flat!
Good performances on the climb by Scarponi and Jeannesson.
Of these top finishers, the last 5 kms were worst for Van Garderen, Frank and Dyachenko.
I don’t know what Sagan is doing up there in the top 20!

Riders who were in the top 20 at the first time-check then disappear are Gusev, Gretsch, Vandewalle, and Smukulis.
Riders who were in the top 20 at the first and second time-checks then disappear are Roche, LL Sanchez, and Albasini.
Riders who moved into the top 20 between the first and second time-checks but couldn’t hold it until the finish are Bouet (just one rider).

The approximate route for the 2014 Tour de Suisse was announced today already.
It starts with a short prologue again, farther down the same valley from where it took place this year.
The last two stages will be mountain finishes, the stage before them likely a TT.
So slightly different format next year.

    14.06.2014: Bellinzona (prologue)
    15.06.2014: Bellinzona - Sarnen
    16.06.2014: Sarnen - Region Zürich
    17.06.2014: Region Zürich - Ossingen
    18.06.2014: Ossingen - Büren a.d.Aare
    19.06.2014: Büren a.d.Aare - Delémont
    20.06.2014: Worb - Worb
    21.06.2014: Delémont - Verbier
    22.06.2014: Martigny - Saas-Fee

    Brilliant analysis. Thank you.

It was a fascinating stage (for a time trial) with the flat section and the subsequent hill meaning that you never really had an idea who was going to win until right at the end.

Cool overview that, knedlicky. So, Jeannesson rode the fastest climb, of those top 20, Mollema 2nd.

This top 20 performance on a 10 km 9% average climb is the clearest indication I can remember seeing that Sagan could perhaps one day target the overall of a GT

So why did a lot of the PTP pick Spartacus?
My excuse is I didn't look at the stage, but even so - 65th and 5 min down.

10km @ 9% looked well away from his comfort zone. Not that I have anything to crow about after picking VG :?

Interesting comments about Sagan by FJS.

Looking distinctly unstylish and lacking any wow factor.

Edmonson, Andy and Dombro lost over 3mins in this TT. Poor performances. JTL got pounded unsurprisingly.

Team Sky skinsuit here looks appalling.

Nice that the highlights are on Sky at the mo, not nice that I've missed most of it though!

OK, quick quiz! What would you prefer:
    - A rider you like winning with massive dollops of panache and heavyweighted-ness like a True Champion™ while wearing kit that is so unstylish it makes your eyeballs bleed
    OR
    - A rider you like winning in some sort of boring style but doing so while impeccably attired
    ?
