I am very tempted by these Dengfu frames, they always look nice, and are reasonably cheap! But is it going to break on me...not sure I can get my head around itCanyon Roadlite AL-Shamal Wheels-Centaur/Veloce Group

I've had this one over a year and by the end of September it will have done 2 racing seasons.
I've never felt the bike was going to break or any major issues tbh. If you're going to buy chinese go for a reputable company such as Dengfu, Hongfu, Flyxxi which will offer a warranty and have good customer feedback.
As stated above the only real issue is the bottle cage bolt which came loose in the frame, this may have been down to user error or our crap roads but I'm not particularly bothered by it.
I've decided this will be the frames last season. I'm looking at getting the new Canyon Aeroad when available as I would like a proper go at the elite road season next year as I should hopefully have my 1st cat license in the next couple of months.0 -
Assuming the bottle cage bolts are just rivnut inserts, it should be an easy fix if you can find someone with a rivnut gun, so they can be nipped up again. Garages or car body repair shops usually have them..0

Be genuinely interested to know what benefit you believe that you would have from switching to a frame that will cost around £1000+ over the Dengfu.
Well done on the (hopefully achieved) 1st cat licence - I've every admiration for someone at that level after my own feeble road racing efforts managed, at best, to gain me 15 points in a season and hence a lofty 3rd cat licence.
I've seen some on here say, and it's sometimes as a critical comment, when someone looks to a splash big cash at a new bike/frame looking for a performance gain that they could spend the money more wisely - for you maybe a PM or a trip or 2 abroad for racing or training would give real gains ?
Not being critical here, I love the look of the Canyon frames and the new one looks great, but even they aren't immune from QC issues, see the seattube/post
issues some have reported on here.0 -
honestly I'm umming and ahing at various things.
I've just bought a Kinesis 4S for winter and looking to kit that out with Ultegra Di2.
I'm also looking at a set of deep wheels such as Zipp 808's, Hed Stinger 90's or something else of that depth.
Finally I'm looking for a Powermeter but that may wait until next season. I don't want to pull the trigger on anything until I know what, if any, sponsorship I'll be getting.
For me I've never had a premium level racing bike and would love to see whether there are any performance benefits.
I'm going to University again in September and had the option of either staying at home or moving away and I told myself if I stayed at home I'd treat myself to a new bike.0 -
Managed to snap a spoke last week in my front wheel (1st one in roughly 3 years)
This is how the bike is now looking with the only carbon pair of wheels I now have until I get the front deep repaired.
Saddle is a charge spoon and I would like to get a -17 degree 130mm stem for a more comfortable position.0 -
