If you re not training properly now, start training. Tyr and structure your rides to work in your weaknesses. If this really is ground zero then any cycle training manual should help get you started, if you ve been training more diligently for a while then try a coachWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Sounds most likely that you don't know how to ride efficiently in a bunch.More problems but still living....0

Can anyone recommend any links for noob racers. Also Old and slow noob races, I am Cat 6 beer and cakes atm. :P Or is sportive the best way forward?Superstition sets the whole world in flames; philosophy quenches them.

You're not race fit mentally and phsyically. So, keep racing and don't hang around near the back of the bunch. Try and keep well up using your climbing to keep you there and be prepared for the accelerations....................................................................................................
If you want to be a strong rider you have to do strong things.
However if you train like a cart horse you'll race like one.0 -

Thanks for the replies, I Was out on a group ride tonight and realized how easy it is to catch up when i get down on the drops (Which I didn't do), Also someone said not to stay at the back of the group , unfortunatly i stayed at the back because of bad visabillity which was caused by bad weather. Any ideas on training manuals or anything as some of you suggested?0

Books
A good place to start:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Time-Crunched-Cyclist-2nd-Ed-Powerful/dp/193403083X/ref=pd_sim_b_3
Before moving on to this:

This then follows:

And some £1000 or so later you're into this:

Or, for left centre methods, there's this:
