Another one to add to my list of manufacturers I'd not heard of before.

Votec were high end, as nick says. Used to make some big USD forks.

This frames looks goods value, decent weight - but the shock position?! I'd try and cover it with something.

Yeah... Was my only concern really too. Good for carrying or fixing a bottle though. Very rarely ride in the wet here but it's gonna get covered in dust down there for sure.

    Shock sock thingy??

That is a bargain - liking the look big time.

Shock no worse located than the lads Scott Genius, 6 year old shock still works just fine!

Just finished an enduro race on the 'hopper. Could've definitely done with that sexy frame today...feeling decidedly beaten up

How Hard Waring is the Anodized Finish?

I've had anodized brake leavers before and the Finnish was worn off in places after about three Months.

Yeah, ano can be very varied. My Scandal had a few cable rubs etc but it'd taken years to aquire them, paint would have been far worse.

Best frame finish is obviously brushed titanium. Unless you're a pov ;)

    très drôle, très drôle.

    Alright, what about this for a frame finish. probably weighs the same as a powder coat and doesn't scratch at all;

It's the future of cosmetic trailproofing, lol. Looks familiar - when refitting engines into freshly powdercoated Bandit frames I tape foam central heating lagging pipe round all the frame rails to prevent scratches.

On the Intense Tracer the weight difference between a raw frame and a painted one is over a pound. I could feel the difference just picking one up in the shop.

No idea about the frame itself, but it does look beautiful. Love the stealth black on black finish. A full stealth look build with all black anodised components would look the bollox.

Your table could do with stripping and repainting though, lol.

hahaha...well spotted. Think the missus did that with some left over paint. It's a horrible dark red underneath...really needs to go in a skip

Black Flows with Stealth Switch hubs, matte black stem/bar, black Domains, Saint Cranks, black Magura MT2 brakes...don't think I can resist a red rear axel and red headset though

Stop it. I'm getting a semi on...

I have to admit that, if I was lucky enough to be in your shoes, I'd be torn between an all black stealth look, or predominantly black with a coloured anodised parts (maybe orange). Those new satin black Rockshox Pikes with black stanchions would look lovely on it.

Actually I do need to replace both the brake hoses as the current ones are too short...neon green you say? Maybe one neon green and one neon orange...hmmm

Matt/satin black and then just one colour......my opinion only of course!

Go red and get some red sidewall Panaracers perhaps!

Latest RS forks with the black stanchions.....

Yep. All matte/satin black for me too. Except headset and rear axel will be red and these will obviously make me go faster

The Domains are a stop-over gap until I can afford some better & lighter forks (next year maybe) - but pretty sure it'll be some form of Lyrik and don't think they come with black stanchions

All I know is the huge silver stanchions of the 318's are gonna look pants...but once I've smashed this thing down a few mountains I will care not of the colour scheme - it's only while it's sitting here looking lovely and naked that these thoughts come to mind :?
