Is a reduction in resting heart rate a good thing?

I know that it's good to see my blood pressure reducing as I start to get a bit fitter but I'm not so sure about my resting heart rate.

Normally it is hovering around 50bpm (+/- 2) but this morning I took several readings and the lowest was 39 and the highest was 44 - is this a good thing?

I have to make an appointment to see my doc re my high blood pressure so I will discuss this with a medical expert (no disrespect to the forum intended) but just wanted some initial thoughts.

Thanks

could be a faulty reading in the first place ?
lower resting is often a good thing and a good indication your fully rested but then everyone is different and yes it could be linked to your BP...good call getting it checked to be sure

Lower is generally good yes. If it drops to nil though - then thats not quite so good.... i would try and keep it above nil if i was you!! ;)
