    Ironic that Wiggo hasn't been looking to confident cornering so far in the Giro, but he prefers to ride mechanical, consequently having to change gears with one hand off the bull horns before he goes into corners

    He rides mechanical because it allows longer aerobars. There is a maximum length allowed, but it is measured differently with the mechanical and electric shifters.

    Yeah I know there's a good reason for it, just find it a bit shame, as the multiple shift points for TT seems to me like one of the good/best bits of Di2

    Wiggins really isn't comfortable with those corners. So slow.

    Yes, I'm sure that was foremost on his mind.
    Well apparently not - which is why I said muppet.

    The surface of this descent Wiggo's on is not nice.

    It's actually painful to watch. I could corner faster. He's going to lose this race to the "marginal gains" others are making by just seeming to want it more. I am the only one who thinks he's treating this as prep for the Tour?

    Oh I agree, but isn't having a better position on the bike more important?

    According to RAI and Sporza, Wiggins crashed prior to bike change.
    Might explain why he is cornering like a brick.

    Wiggins = muppet.

    Does he even think about the damage that could be done to the launch of that new bike by a major sponsor by that action
    Why = muppet?
    Given the amount of adrenalin he must have flowing currently and the fact this is his chance to gain time, I am surprised he only threw it gently!! He needs to have confidence in the bike at the speeds he will be oing and these are not the most stable down hill. What do you think he should do, brake slowly, then park it gently?

    I think he shouldnt throw the bike. Simple.

    Yeah the positions more important. Especially when its the same one you've been used to for a decade or so!!

    I think we haven't got a clue. I don't know about you, I've not ridden a grand tour, but have felt under pressure at work - One's not always a picture of calm.

    But seriously what was he supposed to do, find a bike rack and slot the front wheel in nicely? He's in a Time Trial. He had a flat, he needed to change bikes. He dropped the bike in the hedge. If he'd waited to hand it to the mechanic he'd have lost more time as the mechanic's first job was to hand him his new bike. He wasn't going to hand the old bike to the mechanic and then wait while the mechanic then took it back to the car and bring him his new bike.

    I'm not a Wiggins' super-fan, I think he can be a bit of a muppet some times, but really the poor man just cannot catch a break with some people.

    Looks like Wiggins is going to have to put a shit load in on the flat section now.

    It would also explain why his radio seems to have slipped around to the left of his back.

    52secs back on Dowsett isn't too bad given his bike change. If he ramps things up second half then I can see him putting 3mins into Nibali
