    The system is supposed to allow you to change tyre pressures on the fly to adapt to the terrain. Its not there to pump up your tyre quicker after you have repaired a puncture.

    eg pump the tyres up hard for a long road section, then let them down when you get off road etc ..

    I understand that (although I think it's pointless and ridiculous, lol). It was the "facepalm" post I didn't understand, lol.

    I wonder what does happen when you have a puncture though?

    The WWII American DUKW amphibious vehicle had a system for adjusting the tyre pressure on the move, seemed like a handy thing to have for driving from beaches to roads etc - surprised Land Rover don't have a similar system.
