Quarq calibration Manchester area

Hi,

As I'm off for holidays in 2 weeks time I won't be able to calibrate my Quarq which is slowly approaching the magic ''500'' figure at the zero offset. As far as I'm concerned calibration of Quarq Cinqo is a straight forward task as long as you have the Iphone bundle, Qalvin app and weights. As I've got the iPhone 5 I cannot have the ANT+ thing.

My question is whether you know anyone in Greater Manchester, Lancashire etc (bike shops or private people) that would be able to calibrate my Quarq asap? I able to travel, on my bike obviously and I would offer any sort of fees for that.

Thanks

I've seen it before but I thought they would not be able to turn around with calibrating it before my departure. However, I've just called them and they have confirmed they would do it. Going to send it there then ;-) Cheers

We should hopefully be able to get this back out to you the day after we receive it Kamil.

That's great. For the moment big + for excellent communication with cyclepowermeters! ;-)

    What's wrong with "500 figure"?
Manual states that it can be in range from -1000 to +1000

Kamil's Quarq was actually out of calibration by 1.6%

The 500 figure as has been mentioned isn't a hard and fast rule, Quarq are now actually stating +/-1000, as long as it's not varying more than around 50 between days then it's fine.

Yeah, and before that I didn't know that the new figure is +/- 1000 anyway.

Once again, I will say, amazing customer service from CYCLEPOWERMETERS.COM. I've send my Quarq on Friday and received it back on Tuesday. It was beyond any expectations! Thank you :D

    OK, thanks.
I was asking because I'm a newcomer in the world of PMs and was trying to understand if my Quarq is OK :)
It has started from zero-offset readings between 490-s and 530-s, but after a week of daily use was settled in range of 600-s .. -630-s

As far as I'm concerned that's fine.

    That's the e-mail I've received:
    "Hello Kamil,

A calibration number of -456 is not a matter of concern. In the new manual we have bumped the range out to +/-1000. This means that we want your offset to fall somewhere in that +/- 1000 point range. The importance really lies with the stability of that number. If the power meter calibrates at -456 at the beginning of your ride, you don't want that value to change by more than +/-50 points if/when you preform a calibration at the end of the ride. As long as your numbers are within that range, the power meter is reading accurately.

However, the problem with mine after the calibration is that the readings are lagged now. The cadence/power doesn't respond immediately and it stays for 5secs on the screen after I stop pedaling. Changed the magnet, cleaned everything. Nothing seems to work
