Cycling with a throat infection

I'm not sure what the general consensus is about cycling when slightly under the weather. I have 3 weeks before I am cycling to Paris from Wilts (5 day trip with 2x 110 mile days). I have had a fuzzy head/throat infection for 4 days - not flu. Rest of guys going for a 60mile ride in the sun, won't be quick.

Do I rest up and just give my body a chance, or as haven't been out for 6 days, do I just do a steady ride.

Steady ride could do no probs, I think!?, but would this mean it takes longer to recover from this....

    Ride.

As long as it's really nice and easy (stay at the back), why not?

I find a bit of exercise helps me clear out a cold, or similar.

General rule is below the neck = no ride , otherwise fine.

However, I'd caveat the above by saying that only works for light colds. Anything more serious, there's a reasonable chsnce you'll make it worse.
