Just thought I'd mention that I have noticed this is live on ES2 today from 2:30GMT.

Today's stage is 155.5km from Dunkirk to Courrieres.

for those that are interested just switched on and 40kms to go a group is out front with 40's of gap.

Leaders are Mertens (Tosport Vlaanderen - Baloise), Duval (Roubaix Lille Métropole) y Bush (La Pomme-Marseille)

34.5km to go and gap has increased slightly to 1'16"

Forgot to add that today is pretty flat.

Time gaps might be a bit off as seem up & down. However safe to say that front group is going to be brought back for a bunch sprint.

All back as one group but a few attacks going off the front as they enter the loop part of the circuit.

Ah go on then - its still altogether with 6.4Km to go as they go through plenty of roundabouts & road road furniture.

Sweet! Fabian Schnaidt survived to make the final sprint.

Argos must've gone mental, what is their programme with Mezgec and Reinardt van Rensburg?

I remember talking to Rob Hayles on a club rub once - he was at Cofidis to buddy up with Millar - he got a call out the blue to ride the 4 days - drove down - they gave him a spare bike two inches too small - and told him to ride on the front :? Can't see that happening now

This race used to be an International race and because of the GREED of the UCI with their manipulation of the calendar. (ie moved the Giro to this earlier date and the money TOC)
This race is now almost a French Domestic race and the UCI have cut it from 6 Days to 5 days.
This years race is to commemorate (again I think) the "Mine Disaster" of 1906 with 1000+ deaths.
I was a regular visitor to this a few years ago with a car and the bike in the back for daily excursions as I followed the race and also rode the Roubaix Pave sections.
With this weather I wish I could be there this week.

It seems this year there is no Queen stage circuit in places like Boulogne, Mont Cassel or Mont Noir but stage 2 will have some Pave.

Now at 32.5kms to go & 4 leaders up front are not the same 4 guys as before. Duval, Kadri, Houle and Daniel are leading with 1"38 to gap.

Kadri has gone and broken away from the other 3 escapees just prior to reaching the KOM point of the day & the peloton has a small group of chasers off the front circa 10 riders trying to get a good gap.
