That looks much better :-) Couldn't bear to put a pack on my bike so I chuck everything in the jersey pockets, it is less comfortable though...0 -

I have ridden 7800, a while back, before I changed over to SRAM Red, but this Di2 2013 11 speed is just something else, so slick and immediate.
RRP was £8600, but I didn't pay thatStart with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

I was in Covent Garden on Saturday, and while the missus meandered around in Oasis, I thought I'd pop along to the local Specialized Concept Store. Lo and behold, an S-Works Venge Di2 going for £8,500. What I couldn't get over was how light it was. It made my SuperSix seem like a brick in comparison. People say that upgrading bits on your bike to make it lighter have no noticeable effect on your speed and performance, and I would tend to agree. But this Venge was so light that I couldn't help think I could be a good 0.5mph quicker avg over a ride on it.
Suffice it to say it left a lasting impression on me, and I'm now thinking about ways I can sell my body, or re-mortgage my house, in order to acquire such a machine! I think £8,500 is too steep though, and personally I don't know how Specialized get away with it. Is it cheaper to buy the components individually and have it built?
Slightly off topic, I also saw a special edition S-Works Allez going for £5.5k! First I've heard of them.0 -
I don't think that Di2 11 speed helps the budget... Ultegra Di2 is significantly cheaper!Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0

You can pick up S-Works Venge or SL4 frames in excellent condition for less than 1500, often less than that. 7000 change then buys you lots of nice components......I reckon you could do it for 5 to 6 grand all in.
Trouble is, the new DA Di2 is quite hard to find at the mo.0 -

Why is that? It's in stock at Merlin at the moment...

Ah OK, last time I checked at Wiggle / CReaction etc. there was always something out of stock, and I know a lot of new bikes this year were delayed due to Di2 not being there in time. I guess they're sorting it out.0 -
Hopper1, how are you finding those bars?
I have similar build (Venge S-works frame (carbon/charcoal,neon red), Ultegra Di2, Enve 6.7's) but went for S-works cockpit (toupe, stem, bars). The Zipp bars look fantastic and have great reviews but wondered about:
- comfort of riding on the tops
- wear of handlebar tape. A friend has them and is going through tape on the corners regularly.0 -

I find them very comfortable on the tops... The original tape is still looking great, tooStart with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
Battery's in the seatpost? My Zipp Vukas do chew up the tape. The sharp bit where the drops joins the aero flat top.Pinayellow Dogma 65.1

Yep, battery in seat post. What tape are you using?... I have Specialized S Works tape, which looks like Fizik Microtech, but no signs of wear yetStart with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
Mine's the 10 speed Dura Ace Di2. No seatpost battery option. I had to special order the McLaren Venge aero battery mount under the BB. Damn thing cost me $200! I'm using Zipp Service Course CX tape. Very grippy n comfy but gets really chewed up after just a coupla weeks. I'm using the Fizik Ultralight 2mm tape on the Dogma now. I like the classic perforated leather look. Might try that on the Venge next.Pinayellow Dogma 65.1

Perhaps you could put some electrical tape on the sharp bits underneath the bar tape so it doesn't chew through it?
