    to all: thank you, you have been very helpful. Ordered everything, meanwhile reading online manuals on how to fit and adjust everything.

    PPS. BTW will anyone recommend a good book on bike/MTB maintenance? Online guides are good, but not very convenient to take along to the garden shed... "Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance" by Lennard Zinn and "The Bike Book: Complete Bicycle Maintenance" by Mark Storey are getting very good reviews. Which one is better for MTB?
