Bit of fun, unless I get weak at the knees and unleash the cards/sell a kidney...
Post up your dream bike build. No budget limits, bike type, can be anything you like.
To get the ball rolling:
Santa Cruz Nomad C Frame, green
RockShox Monarch Plus/Pike RCT3 (Both 2014)
Enve AM rims laced to Chris King Hubs, Minion DHFs tubeless
SRAM X0 2x10 drivetrain, silver and black
Hope Stealth Tech EVO V4 front and rear, V4 vented rotors
Enve Downhill bars, Easton Havoc stem orange, King headset orange
Reverb Stealth
Comes in at about £8330! Need to find a local bank with poor security...

Don't know about the components so much, but I seem to be obsessed at the moment with the ibis mojo HD 160. Actually I do know about the components as they are currently hanging off my much upgraded Canyon Nerve!
Honestly those curves on the ibis are just so....right, better stop there or embarrassing things will happen. Again.2011 Canyon XC 8.0 (Monza Race Red)
1996(?) dyna-tech titanium HT; pace RC-35's; Hope Ti Hubs etc etc
Bianchi Road Bike0 -
Mine would just be the s-works demo carbon team replica with its spec, not that I would be able to put it to anywhere near its capabilities ha0
-
This or this really. Fuck it, its a dream, ill have both!

This is about a dream bike build, not a dream bike!0

The Zaskar I have, but with an upgrade to XTR shifters and those silly light plastic inner tubes.0
-
There must be something else on it that you would upgrade if money was no object?0
-
Not really. It all rides very well, good strength to weight, would like better shifters (and maybe tyres). Or a ti axle for the pedals lol.0

I think this may be relevant to those of you wishful thinkers:
And I imagine you wouldn't mind one of them links:

Fork: Probably a Pike
Shock: CCDB Air
Rims: ENVE on King hubs
Drivetrain: XX1
Brakes: Probably Hope M4
Then to finish off, Reverb, Spoon Ti, King headset, Easton Carbon Bars etc etc

let's kick thing up a notch:
Frame Evil Undead:
Forks: DVO Emerald, I have literally no idea if they're any good, but they are green
Shock: Cane Creek Double Barrel (Ti Spring)

Have suddenly moved to the planet Zarg or something?! How on earth is that even remotely like an Orange 5?0 -
I wouldn't dare add up the cost but I know exactly what I want
Intense M9 frame in raw finish (raw is a pound lighter than painted!)
CCDB coil shock
Marzocchi 888 RC3 ti evo fork, 2012 model (better damper than 2013)
Enve carbon rims on Chris King hubs
Chris King headset and bottom bracket
Shimano Saint transmission
E thirteen cranks with Renthal chain ring
E thirteen LG1+ chain device
Enve carbon bars and seat post
SDG saddle
Thomson direct mount stem
Shimano Saint brakes
Shimano DX spd pedals
That should do the job.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

One of the lads at uni has an M9 with Fox 40's Saint group and XT brakes and it is very very nice, saw a few at Stiniog yesterday as well. A carbon one would be stunning!0 -

I don't like 40's, they just don't feel as nice as Boxxers or 888's to me. The alloy M9 frame is expensive enough, I wouldn't like to think how much a carbon one would cost.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I have mine. Every time I think about changing or "upgrading" various bits on it I realise that I'm just fiddling for the sake of it. It was my dream project and it became my dream bike. It's got a lot of stuff on it that people won't care for or is easily "upgraded" (XT to XTR etc.) but it's brilliant as it is.
Having said all of that, I'm very seriously thinking about plugging some BOS Devilles in the front.Trail fun - Transition Bandit

I may be getting confused here, but is it single pivot? What is classified as a pivot?0 -

I don't think so :?

Are all single pivots the same??? I thought they can feel hugely different to ride.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

They can (and these are different), it was a bit tongue in cheek, but as I understand it the Yeti is still an SP design for suspension arc despite the link piece used to drive the shock (which just effects progression).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Tongue in cheek maybe but completely ill-informed!!
The eccentric is essentially used to alter the axle path and leverage rate without infringing on DW-link or Vpp patents, which it was so close to infringing on Santa Cruz actually tried to sue Yeti over the use of the switch system.
The eccentric performs the job a lower link in a twin linkage system would other wise do. So while technically it is linkage actuated single pivot, really it isn't because of the rotation of the eccentric the lower pivot point is constantly changing.0
