If you look at every single part of a bike from the frame, groupset or the wheels, the only part that constantly matters 100% of the time is the rubber on the ground. You can give or take a few grams on a frame. Gear changes only matter when changing gear. Wheels only matter for climbing or speed. Rubber on your wheels always matters. Its the one place you should never compromise. Its always being used and is always important. No other part of the bike can say that.

Get the best you can and stick with what you like. Cheap rubber is for cheap riders.

It may roll better {open corsa] but it will pncture more often than the GP4000s. Pnctre really dent your speed.

I can understand your point but I had a whole season on Ultremos last year without a single puncture and for a month so far on the Open Corsas. Sometimes it's worth taking the risk. I keep puncture protection for my commuter bike which is where it matters.

Just bought Conti GP4000s bundle from Wiggle for £60 using when subscribing to their newsletter, hopefully they will last longer then the ZXs which were rolled amazingly but not puncture proof.

I upgraded from Vittoria Zaffiro to the Rubino pro and they are ace. Can really tell the difference on the flat and at £17 at Evans can't be beat price wise.
