Hi guys,
I'm getting a kurt kenetic road machine tomorrow.
I wanted to know, what bike from my 2 bikes shall I put on. I have a mountain bike scott aspect 45 & a Giant composite 3 road bike. I want to improve my fitness level, so which one of the 2 bikes should I use.
I've started enjoying my road bike and have done 41 miles so far. Bought it on Thursday

Would be logical to put the road bike on it.0

On the tyre and what if I fell off damaged the new baby, lol.
Im leaning towards sacrificing my mountain bike more and more now
I'll try a session or two with each. But thought some one here could tell me thier experience of which one they chose, if they had both. And why?0 -

I give up. It's someone else's turn.0 -
If you're worried about falling off your road bike and damaging it, then perhaps it's best to only use it on the turbo, not on the road.0

i have fallen off, but i watched on youtube somewhere, that a carbon bike can be damaged by the turbo if too tightly fitted. so thats why i'm abit unsure about even putting it on. all week and last i never even thought my mountain bike was going on, i totally forgot i even had one! but as soon as i watched a kurt kenetic video about damaging the carbon frame if too tightly held, i starting to change my mind, this is the very reason i opened this thread.0

I'm sure you could damage a carbon bike on a turbo if you fitted it wrong, but then you could damage a bike in many ways. I would just make sure that you're following the instructions and use it. Your bikes is meant to be ridden - it's not a museum piece.0 -
I'm sure there are a lot of people on here that worried about their first carbon frame breaking at any given opportunity, but you have nothing to worry about mate, carbon is tuff.
Use your road bike on it. Kind of impossible to fall of a turbo when its connected properly unless you get on it after a night out on the lash. If your that worried about how to set it up why not pop into your local bike shop and ask an assistant for a demo on how to do it?0 -

As others have said it is V hard to fall off a bike on a turbo. Much more so than if your on the road on your bike so wouldn't worry about it.
Frame wise you will be OK with a carbon bike as long as your a sensible. I've used mine in a turbo for a few years and never had any issues, even though I did have the first initial thoughts and worries. Sprints are OK, as stand up efforts but if your trying to wrangle the bike side to side stood up you might find the rear of the frame does suffer a little bit too much.
Tyre wise I use my normal ones but others have a specific turbo tyre which do last longer. Guess you just have to think do you want to change this over each time you use it or do you have a spare 'turbo' only wheel you can use a turbo tyre on.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -

It came with one. Haven't watched it yet . But I'm happy I bought the kk. Was watching the kids, they were watching me back, it was probably weird for them. Watching me cycle indoors anyways I've got a question; can the back part, the fan get so hot that it can damage,/melt the carpet? ?0
