    I'm glad that the cyclists with their heads rather than saddles up their arses don't get sportives. I'd rather not ride with them.

    If you have a problem with sportifs youve probably got bigger things to worry about...get a grip.

    I agree with the OP, it's not about being miserable, it's horses for courses. I did the Worcester challenge last year, 90 odd miles, it was a good experience, but it was not worth £30 in my opinion. I have the advantage of being able to ride a number of great routes straight from my door, around the Cotswolds, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
