    @laurentian.
    Thank you for for your wonderful and detailed post. I'm going to take your advice and do the 15 mile ride twice a week. Then after a few weeks do a well planned 25 mile one.

    I'm going to buy the kurt kennetic road bike trainer. Its got an unconditional life time warranty. Plus read into it alot and seen many YouTube videos about it. Thanks you though
    Be collecting my road bike in a few hours now. Going to sports direct to buy some close fitting pants. Plus then into Halford for my helmet.

    Glad you are going to get a helmet. Personally I think guys without helmets usually look like bell ends!
    Have seen and heard of (club members) more than enough incidents to know I would not be without one.

    If you are not keen on helmets I would avoid cheap silly looking ones and it might be worth spending a bit more to get a sexy looking one. Not sure what Halfords sell but maybe look in some other places too to make sure you are happy.
    They are a bit like glasses, very difficult to tell if they will look good without trying on. Don't forget to see what it looks like from the side and rear :wink:
    I think glasses and hats are a lot more important to get right than other gear appearance wise.
    Have always though Giro ones look pretty good myself.

    No worries! You should try to do a "long" ride at the weekend though to back up the two midweek rides ie ride 3 times per week). If you can do 2 x 15 miles in the week you should be able to do 20 odd on one of the days of the weekend - increasing gradually and do not worry about the time taken to do your long ride, just get the miles in your legs. You will be amazed how quickly you will build up those weekend rides.

    Thank you laurentian. Did a 10 mile bike ride. It took one hour and fifteen minutes
    Today I'm doing the same or maybe more
