  • who are the people that turn up just as lidl is opening, i went in an hour after opening and all i could get was the last gilet, gloves and a pair of specs, all the correct sized shirts and shorts were gone
so unless you are a 6'7'' cyclist dont bother with lidl - wait til aldi do the same at the start of may

Can br worth calling in later - I think people often get multiple sizes and then take back the ones that dont fit. I know that I will be returning some of the base layer shorts and at least one of the shorts tomorrow for just this reason...

Nearly bought 2 sizes of the short sleeve jerseys too, but I really dont need another jersey so I put the XL back and thought I would leave it up to fate and if the L doesnt fit then I wont be buying another cheap jersey that I dont need, just because it is cheap!

Whats the fit on the mens jerseys like? They look quite long.

The jerseys are the same fabric as the previous long-sleeved ones, with a short zip. Comfortable but I wish they would do a small size as the medium is a little loose under the arms. They are, as always with Lidl jerseys it seems, very long, even allowing for me "sizing up". I could very nearly walk around in just the jersey without being arrested for indecent exposure*! It completely covers my rear with the tail being so long. The front would be a bit more of a challenge.

Me, and you explain very well why I went at 8.00 am. Plus of course the obvious reasoning that instead of paying £40+ for cycling tops, I get to sped £6-8. I will be there at 8 am next time too if I have a need.

As far as I could tell - Aldi sold out within minutes too last time they did a similar thing.

I got there early as well & got a couple of jerseys, gilet, jacket & gloves. Their sizing is bonkers, med jersys are on the snug side, whereas the med jacket & gilet are are very roomy. Might go back & see if they have a small & I've never been a small in my life.

Bought socks, gilet and track pump.

Socks are fine, gilet even a small is loose for me so undecided and will use pump on saturday and decide whether to keep it.

Can I suggest you PM this sort of question - as it is wwwaaaaayyyy off topic!!

    Agreed. I've PM'd goonz with a reply.

    Ah

Well, went to local Lidl in sunny Aylesbury and not a thing left, not a sock even

Either they never had any or the Bucks bikers hoovered up the lot

Loads left in Reading Oxford Road this morning - added to the stock by returning two jerseys (absolutely massive even though I bought what should have been too small a size for me), three shorts (legs narrow but torso for a 25stone man in the medium!) and two pairs of base layer shorts (sizing of these was OK but I had bought multiple sizes just in case).

To be honest, the quality of the jerseys was poor. I have bought LIDL and ALDI in the past and while LIDL were never as good as ALDI, they were never as bad as this - the stitching was terrible, although the fabric felt OK. Totally weird shape though. I didnt try a smaller size even though they still had them in stock because they arent even worth £6 - I can get really good quality jerseys in Decathlon for a couple of quid more and well worth it.

been to 3 of the lidl's in cardiff and none of them sell the stand :-(

still spent 20 quid on clothes, track pump and gloves. hope that aldi have a similar sale on soon although i am sure last year they sold it all in September!

Guess I will sniff around ebay for a stand

If you cant get the lidl one and need a stand then the edinburgh cycles one is pretty good: http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/product ... ruing-jigs

Yes, its more money but still cheaper than most!

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on this - I got the last Medium gilet in the Feltham branch, some mitts and two cans of the cleaner for 20 quid. I only bought the cleaner because it's acetone based, and that doesn't seem to be all that common these days.

I also tried to pay by credit card. Fortunately I also had a debit card on me!

I've got one of the Revolution stands, very pleased with it - could do with a shelf, mind but otherwise ace for the money

Bought 2 pairs of socks, gilet and track pump, my local (barking) still hard a few things left. Jerseys all M+ no S. The gilet although a S is still big on me and I have decided its going back. socks are fine and track pump will try on the weekend.

All in all not too impressed, not sure what everyone rushes out so frantically for, then again I am used to castelli and rapha so I may be a bit of a snob (sorry)! Still i definitely noticed the difference in fit and quality, I would suggest saving up a little and buying something a bit better. Endura do great cycling gear and so do DHB.

Another thumbs up for the Revolution stand, and there is a shelf for it: Shelf They used to do a non-magnetic one too (otherwise identical but cheaper of course). I just stuck an old magnet from a broken hard drive to it.

Edit: Missed the earlier link to the shelf.

    - I got the last Medium gilet in the Feltham branch

Second to last :D I went to Feltham on Friday and got a larger gilet that was too big so took it back and and changed it for a medium that was out of its wrapper. Also got the sunglasses, a jersey, the computer (only really wanted it to know the time mid-ride as I don't wear a watch but the speedo seems to work well).

For that price, even if its not the greatest quality its still all good as extra kit. Haven't had glasses before - they seem alright to me.

The sizing is crazy, L base layers are a little on the small side for me but will be fine. Picked up a L Gilet which was huge, retured it for an M which was still too big. By this time i'd headed up to Wales for thew weekend so called in a local lidl, unfortunately there was no small left but the manager called another store and they had a small dropped off for me which i picked up the next day. It's now a pretty decent fit.
