Looking at using Trainerroad, but what I want to know is can you change the turbo used, I work away so I have 2 turbos different models, is it a case of just editing when a different turbo is used?
Looked on their site but cannot see this topic being mentioned.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, you can change turbos. But you might find you get different 'virtual' power outputs unless you use a powermeter.Live to ski

Great guys, appreciate the feed back, both turbos have selective resistance, tacx booster and elite super chrono so I am hoping the difference is marginal but will contact them anyway.

Colin is exactly right. Unless you're using a power meter, your Virtual Power will be relative to the trainer you used during your assessment. So one trainer may give you a more/less true-to-life number than the other. This isn't a problem when you stick with the same trainer since consistency is what's truly important when training with power data but swapping becomes a bit of a problem should your 2 trainers have noticeably different power curves.
The best suggestion I can come up with, although a bit of extra work, would be to assess on both trainers and log each FTP. Then, adjust your FTP (within the Profile tab) each time you switch trainers (within the Devices tab) and this will keep your TSS/IF records accurate even though it will mess up your personal bests a bit. It will take literally 10 seconds in total each time you switch.
And if that doesn't sound like a suitable solution given the dual-assessment requirement (yikes), contact us at support@trainerroad.com with both trainer names, and I can compare the curves and let you know the sort of discrepancy you might expect.0
