    Hi,

So for those who bought, what are your views? I cant really afford to be paying £3.5k on a SRM for Campag.. and nor do I compete at that level to justify, not yet...

The Rotor seems like a very interesting prospect, as it measures both left and right power...and for around £1100 with Qrings (my LBS tthrowing them in for free) I think, if the reviews are good, its a good investment...

what are your thoughts on this pedal efficiency function they claim to have. Garmin Edge has not incorporated this yet....

    Thanks,
    Timujin

So your LBS is giving you the Rotor Power Cranks pretty much at trade and throwing in rings as well so they'll net a loss despite the fact that they're back-ordered for at least a couple of months? Really? What's your LBS?

Benefits of living in Gibraltar... LBS is in Spain across the border, they get best prices as Spanish company and then deduct VAT.. I pay ZERO in Gibraltar for sporting goods....

we have the life and the weather, at the expense of many things... if you ever head down here on holiday, get in touch.. totally legal, just benefits of being in VAT border..!!! uk just rapes you for 20%.... sporting goods should be free, keeps people of the nhs bill longer!!!

still the question remains, should I get one.... will going from normal rings to Qrings + the power meter be too much, or should I keep normal rings, ride for a bit then switch and then compare the power...

FWIW I ride Q-rings on my TT bike (Rotor 3D Power2Max) but recently swapped it over to one of my Foils to see if the rings made a difference on the road. I found that they made zero difference from a power, performance, or recovery perspective as compared to my DA chainset. What I didn't like though was the rubbish front shifting which is why said rings will stay on my TT bike until further notice.

Thanks Grill... interesting perspective on shifting... but that is just rings, nonetheless, a power meter should be the next step, i have started to compete in ciclos and also was told at my RETUL that I need to work on my TOP END (lactate test)... so only way is power to measure what it is that im doing... im going to pop over tomorrow and ask them to order it... left and right readings would be an advantage, i was holding out and for the garmin vector but they are taking so long, who knows what problems then have encountered... however it is great they have not released a half finished product....

Either way you go on rings I would suggest opting for the aeros as the normal rings aren't the stiffest.

If its a lot cheaper than standard, why not the K Force SRM. Its not a Campag one, but I think the colour isnt too bad when matched to Super Record.

And this way it will stop you wanting a SRM when you have the Rotor.

would love to own a SRM but reality is im not going to spend £3k on a power meter... id rather spend £3k and upgrade to a new Derosa King 888 frameset ;-)
