Really don't want the hassle of base layer, arm warmers, gilet and ss jersey if 1 good long sleeve will do the job. Might have a look at some soft shell jackets too

Is not really a hassle, just means you have 3 or 4 options what to wear, and can take things off mid ride as it warms up, whereas a LS jersey is a bit inflexible.

Dont confuse ls jerseys with softshells - the latter is obviously a jacket.

Indeed. But just because that is our understanding does not mean everyone thinks that way

What long sleeve would you wear in this weather :?:

Torm T5 with ss base and a Rapha softshell on top. Ok,the latter's not in everyone's budget....but a gilet or wind jacket would work too. For me, arm warmers have an ephemeral aspect....at this time of year, I know I wont be needing to pull them off during a ride! But, I take your point.

Re posts re Rapha - the Torm stuff is so close in quality, that (for me), 2 Torms for the price of 1 Rapha makes more sense. Torm has a slightly lower % of merino, but I prefer the lighter fabric.

I guess it also depends on where you live - I'm based in Scotland...so I need to layer up during this time of year!
