Garmin Edge 500 HR Monitor

Hi,

I got a Garmin Edge 500 for christmas which I have used several times but have only just started reading the instructions for the heart rate monitor. I have put the heart rate monitor on (just try and see how it pairs up with the computer etc) the computer has recognised it and I have started the timer to see what it would be like out on the road. With the timer running I have flicked through the pages on the computer and there isn't any data for current heart rate.

Is there a way I can set the computer to show my current heart rate when out on a ride?

.. or is it only designed to show max, min and avg HR when you upload the data onto Garmin connect?

    Hold menu button, then navigate through settings-bike setting-data fields

    Select a page then you can assign a multitude of different things to display.
