Is this normal?
Back in training after a couple of months off and have yet to finish a sufferfest.
Its the high cadence that im really struggling with - i can labour a low gear all day long.
Maybe its highlighted a flaw in my riding.
Anyone else have the same problems?

You have probably lost a good solid base fitness. Trying to keep up with a Sufferfest workout with its high intensities of over threshold and anaerobic phases - it's no wonder you cannot complete.
Establish where your threshold is again - power or heart rate and plenty of sweetspot work as well as endurance zone work for the next 6 weeks.0 -
Thankyou for the response JGSI, that sounds realistic.

I had a look at it last night, it is very tempting as i dont have a powermeter and rely on HRM

+1 for going back to basics. Your HR must be all over the place after a couple of months off. Ride consistently for about 3 weeks (favoring time over of intensity) just to get your body used to riding again and you should be good to go.0
