I'm Developing Turbo Trainer Software!

Hello everyone,

For quite a while I've taken a lot from this site and given little in return and so I thought that this could be something I could give back to the community.

It is still in its absolute infancy and I'm looking for ideas about what people might want included. So far you can define your own workout and it will give you the activity, time remaining and expected cadence and HR. I also have a Garmin Ant+ stick on the way and hope to be able to include data collected in real time on the screen too.

Pictures so far:

Let me know what you want :D
Cheers
Leo

Add a function to hide the timer, so that I can't keep looking to see how much suffering I have left.

I'd stick with Golden Cheetah if I were you and save your energy for riding rather than programming.

None of the current software is available as an Android tablet app so doing that would give you a USP.

Thanks for the idea but don't worry, I won't be generating 1.21GW on the turbo any time soon :)

    You got it!

Wow that is quite a fully featured bit of software, never heard of it before!

Great idea, thanks :) I'll have a look at feasibility
  • I've recently been using Sufferfest and thought I could do something similar with the basis being video. I have a small digital sports camera that I use when kitesurfing, I would fit this to the bike and record rides, then add this to windows movie maker and add the timing and music over the top. Not sure if it will work but I'm gonna give it a go, so I would say for yours video has to go on there.

It's also free and brilliant, well developed and has been continually upgraded. Even if I could run it on a tablet I wouldn't because I wouldn't want to run sweaty salty fingers all over a tablet screen. A cheap mouse is so much better.

[dragons' den mode] I'm out! [/dragons' den mode] but very good luck
