Here's mine. MSC frame, cheap from ebay. The frame came with team decals which i removed. It used to look like this
Unfortunately a lot of paint came off with the decals so I had to buy some more, went for club colours with a bit of silver striping.
Shimano mix Ultegra,105 and tiagra. Got some Easton tubs for it too.
It's not bad, handles nicely, not too heavy, fits well. Hoping it will take me to a first win of the year soon. 2nd and 3rd so far.
Saving for a Ridley though.
Here it is in action.
Cross is the future. If you are in the Bristol/Bath area and fancy getting involved in a cross club/team, drop me a pm. In the very early stages of setting one up.0 -

My Stevens Vapor. Alloy frame, carbon fork, full Ultegra on a 46/36 chainset. Avid BB7 Discs, Easton wheels, Scorpio finishing kit. I'm running Specialized Borough tyres in this pic, 32c, which I usually do through the summer months. When its really muddy I use Schwalbe Rocket Rons. Really happy with the bike - initially disappointed it didn't have mudguard/rack eyelets, but its such a fantastic ride I've overcome that! Really love the utility of a CX bike and ride this a lot.

Non e giusto! You can't show that off in 2 threads at the same time. A man's gotta get some work done!
love those brakes, I have TRP eurox but these hi-pro ones seem to be more powerful, kinda like that TRP Revox: https://www.trpbrakes.com/category.php? ... &catid=185

Thanks - I'll try that. The brakes are much more powerful than the cantis on my old CX bike.0 -
Here's the best race bike in summer guise with road tyres and 53-39 chain rings. For the race season the cross tyres go on as do 46-38 rings.
Oh, and the bottle cages come off - which is easy, I just snip the zipties...race bike baby, no bottle bosses allowed...

Love the Van Dessel!!!
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Planet x xls frame for this season..... Can't stop thinking about the 10+Kg my current crosser weighs.0 -

Today is the build date for my XLS, so should have it hopefully Wednesday :-) But looking at the bikes above, I think the XLS is going to look a little dull! [unless you are a fan of the F-19 colour scheme!]
I think as you are going frame only, you need to send the XLS to Wyndy Milla for a paint job :-)Simon0 -

You'll have to post up a pic when you get it. Most planet x paint jobs are rather unimaginative!
The force build at £1299 is very good value but I wanted to spec too much stuff myself if going for a new bike.
Wish list so far - carbon frame with internal routing, TRP HY-RD hydraulic disc brakes, lightish groupset, Some hand built light/strong wheels
I think this could be a full on race beast for under £1300 if sourced carefully, might even go for the Chinese FM059 and get a decent paint job.
I might wait another season though, see how much racing I actually do.0 -
FM059 is a great but be a bit wary of the super high (higher than Ridley high, and that's high) BB which is OK for an off-road assault vehicle but not much good as an all-rounder if you want more of a cross-over road bike. The Focus carbon (CX not AX), Cannondale, Van Dessel, Orbea Terra, Spesh Crux, and Trek Chronos all have 68-70 mm drops which is where it's at, and I race with 177.5s on.
My view is the PX Carbon XLS is >>> than the Dirty D if only for how the rear dropouts are constructed. The DD looks really industrial and beta version whereas the Carbon XLS is super refined and delicate, the final version. Cross frames don't break at the dropouts* so it's not even a consideration.
*unless they're mid-90, heat-treated, super-brittle 7000 series Al. The only dropout issues I've seen is from the dreaded rear-mech-wrap which happens on muddy days...When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -

Thanks for the info on the BB height, hadn't noticed this. Yes the XLS looks like the real thing that ticks all the right boxes (except for paint job) but the frame only price is a little high IMO. If they drop the price or do a special offer I might snap it up.0 -

As for the paintjob, looks like there is a version coming with a 'Flanders' colour finish.

I guess it's going to be bold yellow and black?

Ooooh, interesting, that might push me over the edge
Shame a 57 is too big or I'd have taken that.0 -
Will take some better photos soon... but it's here!
Planet X XLS Force, with Conti 28mm 4 Season tyres.
It is a little black and raw. I don't mind it, but it could do with a little cheering up!Simon0
