The unthinkable has happened. Sergio Henao finally gets a win with Sky!

Evidently he tried to mess it up by taking a wrong turn with 75m to go.

That's Tony Livesey for you - the intellectual heavyweight who used to be the editor of the Daily/Sunday Sport.

it wasn't just BBC North West who got it wrong - at least one sports news website is still reporting Cav won as well http://www.sport.co.uk/cycling/mark-cavendish-wins-second-stage-of-volta-ao-algarve/3716298/

Too early to tell if he is the next JTL. Startling result for sure.

In addition to Henao and Uran, we are loving the fact that @Josh_Edmondson1 finished seventh today in some big climbing company #Impressive

  • I'm chuffed as a chuffed thing with today's result. Henao, absolute class...and young Josh...that's very promising indeed

Sorry to hijack this thread but I notice that you are in Portugal 47b. I was in the Algarve last week and looked at an appartment in Tavira.Do you know if there are any good routes in the area. What area are you in?

hijack away you anarchist cycling type :D

Tavira is a great town (ancient capital of the Algarve). Head north from Tavira up through the hills to Cachopo, there are clubs that do this on a Sunday I believe, not too sure as I live halfway between (back on topic) the end of stage 1 (albufeira) and the start/finish of stage 2 (Lagoa), it's about 6ok from Tavira.

    carry on :D

  • Great to see Henao take that win. Westra in 3rd is a good sign. JTL 47th but maybe that was the plan.

35 km TT? That's a bit long for february! Big mountain top finishes, long time trials - where are te days of a couple of gently unduating loops at medium pace along the med was all you got before the Omloop

Absolutely daft, given the "Queen" stage hill finish was only 3kms in length.
A few seconds gained there, but a few minutes lost in the time trial.
    Too long by 25kms.
    Ridiculous imbalance.
