I have a Felt AR4 2013 for road use, which i have not yet used but am starting to train using the tacx system with a mountain bike on top.
Issue is that the tyres smoke and burn and i reckon i really need a road bike sat on top.
I dont want to throw my money away if its not needed but if i do need to spend i dont really have an issue with that either.
Mt question is what to buy/replace for the tacx.
I can see myself using it a lot so want something usable and upto the job.

Why can't you use the felt?0

Agree - use the Felt, maybe look at getting a cheap rear wheel and tyre, cover that bad boy in towels to keep the sweat off and away you go!0

Or just change the tyre on the mtb0

Get a rear wheel with a turbo tyre and a similar cassette for the Felt and use that. It takes about 2 minutes to change the wheel and setup the bike on the trainer that way, and you save on the extra bike. If you do want an extra though, just get something cheap with a close geometry to your road one (and a saddle you like), as you won't really have any advantage regarding weight loss and such there0
