Plenty of ten speed chainsets being used with an 11 set up, Shimano 11 speed works fine with a ten speed chainset and according to Mercian in Derby there isn't an issue across all groupsets.

  • I take it I would use the 10 speed yaw front derailleur?

I have 6800 11 speed chainrings (52/36) with 6700 10 speed group set on my winter bike - no problems.
  • Yeah the 11 Speed chainset will work perfectly Fine with 10 speed group. I wouldn't however use a 10 speed chainset on a 11 speed.

    I have a 6800 11 speed crankset (52/36) with 10 speed cassette and 10 speed shifter

Although it worked I found the 10 speed chain did not quite sit on the 52 ring. Changed to an 11 speed chain and sits perfectly so all good

Interesting. I have 6800 in 50/34 and running 10 speed with a 10 speed chain, and don't have any issues. I'm surprised that an 11 speed chain works with the 10 speed cassette?
