Understand your comments RM about the flows, but I'm not and never will be a world cup rider / racer. I'm just your average deskmonkey who likes to get the big bike out every now and again for a bit of downhill fun, and as mentioned in the first post, I'm a bit of a girl when it comes to real nasty stuff so I reckon the flows will be absolutely fine.

If not, i'll be sure to have a whinge about them :)

World cup racers get their wheels re-tensioned for each run and their rims aren't standard off the shelf parts.

Some do maybe- but Jonnier was using box-standard rims. (another misconception is that the rims get constantly replaced, but hers were as well used as mine, and weren't getting touched between runs when I saw her race)

721s (and others) are stronger than Flows but it's just wrong to say they're too weak. And that's just the old Flow, not the new stronger DH-designed Ex. If you need a stronger rim that's cool, but the OP wants light. (FWIW, I've seen more cracked 721s than any other rim, usually at Mavic's traditional weakspot at the eyelets , but then I've seen more 721s than any other rim too so that skews things ;) )

Just bought a set of new slx brakes for the enduro. What would you recommend for the tues?

Whatever you like tbh, most brakes are good enough these days. I rate Formula The Ones, love the feel and power and they're reliable and servicable (though expensive!). Not the toughest impact-wise but light. With SLX if you break a lever, you normally need to replace the whole assembly, parts aren't easily available but they're definitely fit for the purpose.

Well, sent my SS built Flows back and ordered a set of Flow EX on pro 2's from the bike outlet, (right size rear hub this time...) cheers for the earlier link.
Hopefully should be here before the end of the week, would be nice to get her all built up and ready for a thrash on saturday.
Carbon bars will be going on tonight, grabbed a torque wrench from work as last thing I want to do is kill them by overtightening.

    Bit of an update on what i've been spending on... Treated it to;

    Easton havoc carbon bars
    Straitline 28mm direct mount stem
    ESI chunky grips
    SDG I beam post
SDG I beam carbon fly saddle
    Non qr collar
Hope hoops - flow ex on pro 2's
    SRAM red 10 spd cassette
    Nukeproof electron pedals

Rides really well, feels more lively/agile and comes in at a pretty good 16.8kg.
