Training on a Turbo

Just done 2 try out sessions on my new Tacx Blue Motion and wondered how to improve my fitness/speed, etc. I don't have a laptop, just the PC which isn't in the garage! I'm watching music vids at the mo. I take it those DVDs like Sufferest are for a PC and need to be connected to the trainer as they automatically alter the resistance - is that right? Is there anything I can get hold of to use in plain old DVD format?

Sufferfest can be connected to the turbo via trainerroad but that was not the original concept and they work independently. They give you a RPE (rate of perceived exhertion) you adjust the resistance yourself.

    From the horses mouth:

Are these downloads or DVDs? What can I watch them on? — These are downloads – THEY ARE NOT DVDs. They’re in an .mp4 format, which means you can play them on just about any computer, laptop, ipod, blackberry, iphone, PSP, iPad, xbox, television (by connecting a media player) or whatever. If you want to watch them on a DVD, then you can burn them to DVD yourself (you will need to know how to do this and have the right kind of software. Some DVDs/BlueRays do play .mp4 files – check your machine). You can copy it for your own use, too – so if you want to download it onto one computer and then transfer it to another you own, you’ll be able to do that.

    How to convert:

Give a try with AppGeeker DVD Creator, converts any type of video/audio/image files into DVD.

I play the Sufferfest videos on my iPad, which is propped up in front of the bike.
