Just bought a spinning bike. Any advice

Rather than a trainer I've bought a spinning bike. Has anyone any advice on training routines. I am interested in both weight loss and building up strength for when I'm out on bike. Thanks. Also anyone recommend or got any DVDs?

Think of 10 30sec exercises that you can give 100%.
Start with a bit of a warm up then:
Exercise no.1 for 30sec
Recover for 30sec
Exercise no1 for 30sec then straight into exercise no2 for 30sec
Recover for 30sec
Exercise no.1 for 30, no.2 for 30, no.3 for 30sec
Recover for 30 sec
Keep going until your doing all 10 exercises at 100% and vary cadence and resistance between different exercises.
Hope that helps you get started.0 -

Nonsense....spinning can be excellent as long as you have a good instructor and are prepared to work hard. I love the spinning classes that I go to at my gym. There are quite a few really good cyclists who attend too. You should try them...you may well be surprised0 -

the rest of us just use turbo trainers or rollers, 'cos we do it for the love of our own bikes0 -
So, how's the spinning going?0
