Who do you want to see do well during the 2013 Season?
So, who do you guys want to see have a good Season? List your riders and reasons why.
My choices are:
Mark Cavendish - The fastest man on 2 wheels. Fact. I love him. I want to see him destroy everyone this year at every opportunity.
Fabian Cancellera - I'd really like to see Fabian recapture his old form. I hope he has a great Classics run. I'd also like to see him in a decent Team, but I guess we'll have to wait for that.
Thor Hushovd - I missed him last year; my favourite Garmin-Cervelo rider. Loved his climbing on Intermediate stages during the 2011 Season.
Andy Schleck - Come on goofy - show us what you can do. Ride it like you stole it.
Tom Boonen - Another of my favourite riders. Hoping for some real fireworks between Fabian and he at the Classics.
Dan Martin - I think he needs a good feed, but I loved watching him tear it up at the Tourmalet last year. I'd like to see more of him this Season.

Cav tearing it up
Fabs back and on form
EBH - come on Eddy, a classic beckons
G - a good show at Flanders would be fantastic
Henao - really want to see him let loose at the Vuelta
Duarte
Joe Dombrowski and JTL - newbies to the PT
Quintana
Wiggins - the Giro please Surbrad
Pinot - the real deal for French cycling's future?
Oh and Stannard...just because.
EDIT: keep on realising I'm forgotten someone....Rich-tea Porte0 -
Ian Stannard - after winning the national championship he seemed to be far more aggressive and confident. I'm hoping 2013 is the year he really does something.
EBH - He just comes across as a really decent bloke, so I'd love to see him have his best season yet.
Nicolas Roche - hopefully his new role will see him actually get some results due to not having team leadership responsibilities in every race.
Nairo Quintana - he certainly showed some of his potential in 2012. Hopefully he'll move to the next level in 2013.
Taylor Phinney - another rider who could step up another level this season. His interview a few months back about getting rid of the pill culture in cycling has also stuck in my mind as a reason to want to see him succeed.
Russell Downing - his Sky experience wasn't quite what it could have been and he is getting on a bit, but wouldn't it be great to see him getting a few big results in some of the more prestigious races Net App - Endura get invites to.0 -
Not quite answering the question, but - I am looking forward to seeing the old Contador/Schleck battle resume.
Would like to see Cav dish some pain out on Sky somehow.
Boonen/Spartacus Classics should be good, and I don't mind who wins.
Excited by the French: Rolland/Pinot/The Other One
Colombia Coldeportes to take a stage win in style at the Giro.0 -
Cav and Sky. Just to piss off most of the moan-arses on here.Trail fun - Transition Bandit
Road - Wilier Izoard Centaur/Cube Agree C62 Disc
Allround - Cotic Solaris0 -
Chavanel to grab a half-decent Classic/semi-Classic. E3 or DDV maybe.
I'll be spectating at Flanders, so I'd love to see Boonen and Gilbert at the sharp end.
I'm not a Sky fan but it'll be interesting to see how Jon Tiernan-Locke does.
Geraint Thomas to do well in the spring.
Cunego to remind us he exists.
And my favourite minnows, Topsport-Vlaanderen.kop van de wedstrijd0 -
Anyone who I can watch an believe is clean.
But yeah
Cav, G, Wiggins, Gilbert, Boonen
looking forward to some good GC battles this year, Froome vs Cuntador would be a good one. I just hope Contandor doesn't dominate too much and launch attacks after rest days.0 -
Boonen/Canc/EBH/Thomas/Hushovd all to have the best Flanders and Roubaix of their lives...
Wiggo breaking himself pulling Froome back up to a break, Froome then attacks and d1cks all over Dirty Bertie and wins what ever race it happens in just to watch a particular forum member try to explain how Contador meant it to happen all along...
Cav and Sagan both to be on tip top form at the Tour so we get a great Green Jersey Battle this year
JTL to do something awesome, not actually bothered what as long as it's awesome
Gilbert to be back on form as he's always a good watch, especially if Sagan and J-Rod are on the prowl too
Mostly though, Pete nails it with his first line...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence
- @ddraver0 -
Me!
Other than that:-
G to become a real contender on the road especially in the northern classics
Wiggo to ensure he doesn't get labelled a flash in the pan
The Colombia Coldeportes team in the hilly stage races
Dan Martin0 -
Like others I would like to see Gilbert and Cancellara have good season because the way they race is interesting.
Froome dog to show he has what it takes in GT and that this years TDF wasn't a one off.
Ian Bibby to prove to Net-App Endura they should have signed him by having a massive year.
The two Guernsey riders Tobyn Horton who is at UK Youth this year, keeps coming close to winning some good races, would like to see him step up and take those wins and James McLaughlin who rides for Sojasun Espoir he had an unlucky year last year with back problems and a broken collar bone, but i think has what it takes to step up to pro-conti is he can have an injury free season0 -
Hushovd. He's good value, even if I'm not the biggest fan.
Andy Schleck.
de Gendt.
Canc vs Boonen is always good.
I like a strong Pozzato too.
Sagan.....ja as long as it's competitive.
Gerraint Thomas since I really enjoyed his '11 Flanders ride.0 -
Geraint Thomas to hopefully make a real impact in the classics. Also want to see a proper ding dong battle this year, with Boonen, Cancellara both in top form.
Hoping Andy Schleck can stop Contador simply turning up and winning the Tour. I doubt he'll win, but he could make a race of it.
I know it's not cool to like him, but i'd like to see Wiggins back up his domination this year by winning the Giro.
I'd love to see J Rod crown his career by finally winning a GT, if Contador focusses on the Tour then surely the Vuelta is his for the taking."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
Probably not going to see it, but I would love a proper contest between Wiggo & Contador - i.e. Contador ripping it up only to see Wiggo churning back alongside. Wiggo to take it on the final TT, obviously. And Fenton let off the leash when it won't do any harm.
Thor, Cancellara and Cuddles all fit & competitive. Cav to light the afterburners a few times.
As Inky says, JRod getting his GT.0 -
Geraint - I want to see if he's really got it for the classics, and would love to see him win one
Rodriguez - Another one who desperately wants JRod to get a GT win. I think he's class. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
Cav steamrollering his sprint opposition.
Wiggo doing right by Froome - and showing him how it can be done without all the histrionics, looks behinds, deathstares in the deathstar.
G
EBH. Who just seems to be the nicest bloke out there.0 -
Boonen to rinse northern classics
Tony Martin and Taylor P to do the business in various TT's
Sagan to win a couple of one dayers
Cadel Evans to finish high or win TdF
Pinotti to win something coz he's a nice bloke
Kittel to step up a gear and winning a few important sprints.
Like others, I'm pretty sure EBH is locked on for a solid 17'th in this years P-R.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Really want Cav to win Green Jersey at TdF, still believe he is the real deal.
Wiggins to win whichever GT he rides, proving that he is class.
Stannard. A hard rider who does much more than his fair share on the front. I think he really could get a podium at one of the classics (as can GT on the right day).
Gilbert, just because its good to see World Champ jersey on the front or in a breakaway.
Voeckler. I'm a huge fan and love watching him gurn his way to stage victories.0 -
Thomas - missed him, just hope he doesn't harp on about mystical wristbands and/or timeshares.
JTL climbing against the big boys - should be fun, but doubt it'll put a smile on his miserable chops.
Wiggins - no one likes it when the 'difficult second album' sounds like a dog's dinner.
Chavanel - 'coz he's the thinking man's Voeckler. I think.
Nibali - always had a soft spot, but will miss seeing him on a Cannondale.
J Rod - 'Purito' as the driven snow in my mind, until the inevitable +ve I suppose.
Boonen and Cav - 'coz they make my little lad happy, and it's more fun round here when Rick's happy and Iain's in a grump. (BTW Rick and 'my little lad' are two different people.)
ABC - Anyone But Contador... though he'll probably clean up and send pro-cycling even further in the mire.
Tygart - obvious really.0 -
1. Wiggins - Giro and Tour double
2. Thor- missed him last season so hoping he shines again in 2013
3. Thomas/Kennaugh - Interested to see how they fare now they are focusing on the road again
4. Contador- looking forward to him lighting up the tour
5. Spartacus taking it to Boonen and Gilbert in the classics
6. The new look Euskatel
Conversely those that I am less keen on seeing do well:
1. Froome
2. A Schleck
3. Radioshack0 -
Stannard- a good showing in the Spring classics particularly P-R
JTL-in the Ardennes or to be good enough to mix it for day or two in the mountains in a GT
Kennaugh- because now there are no distractions so it is time to step up0 -
Along with the young Brits, I'd love to see EBH get a big one day win. 2nd at Worlds, and dominance at Plouay suggest he can do the distance now.
Cam Meyer. Hoping his stage race ability continues to improve.
Nordhaug. Big one day win would be nice.
Boom. See if he can replicate his Roubaix form.
Moser. Degenkolb. Bardet.0 -
Dean and Russ Downing and JTL.0

Thanks for clearing that up.
Mrs MM checking to see why I'm laughing.0 -
Gilbert, can he do what he did in 2011 (no, but hope he gets some wins).
Sagan for a classic, and more tdf wins but no green this year.
Greipel gurning his way to some sprints after the work of the lotto Belisol sprint train.
Cav to get quite a few wins. More than Boonen.
Wiggo for the giro.0 -
Sagan to win MSR.
Boonen and Cancellara ride away from the field at Flanders. Cancellara to win the sprint.
Hushovd to win Roubaix.
Dan Martin to win LBL
Sagan to win Amstel
Roche to win a TDF stage.
Contador to win TDF - Evans to defy logic and podium.
Evans to win Lombardy“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
Voeckler.
Just Voeckler. It's not so much about winning, I just hate losing.0 -
De Gendt
Sagan
